Leslie's Wags & Whiskers Wonderland Private Pup Playground In West Caldwell

Come and visit us at Wags & Whiskers Wonderland. Where tails wag fast and wave high, whiskers smile, wet noses sniff, zoomies can zoom and doggie wishes come true! Come alone with your dog, with doggie friends or maybe a doggie birthday "pawty" (pawty packages available). We love being a part of Sniffspot and providing a safe space for dogs to get exercise and explore. I have (and have had) reactive dogs and understand the struggles to find fun and safe spaces for them to explore. Come here and enjoy a fully fenced backyard with pool (optional extra fee). Fence height 4 - 5 feet. Large park like setting with grassy flat area for dogs to romp and play. There are dog bowls available and a hose for water. There is a patio seating area with table and chairs as well as a furnished gazebo to sit and enjoy some shade. A large mulberry tree also provides some nice shade with an available hammock to share with your furry friend. There is a heated built in pool, which is separately fenced for safety, and available for use with minimal additional fee. Dog toys available for in and out of the pool. For pool users we offer several sizes of dog swim vests from XS to XL, floats and lounge chairs. I also offer a supply of bug spray and sunscreens. In case of muddy paws there are pet wipes and also a first aid kit just in case. There is a large private driveway for parking. Please remember the purpose of interact with your dog so please engage with them and supervise them at all times…no dogs should be unattended at any time. My main focus of becoming a host is for the enjoyment, enrichment, benefit and safety of THE DOGS...this is why we have clear rules, boundaries and limitations which we ask that all of our guests respect. Please always ask if you have any questions or need clarification. POOL CLOSED FOR 2023 SEASON - OPENING DATE FOR 2024 SEASON TBD To our pool users...If you have added the pool as an add on, the dogs are all welcome. Their humans (1-2 adults only per dog) are also allowed to enter with the dog as long as the human is interacting/playing with the dog (if no dog in the pool, then no people in the pool). I do my best to clean/skim the hair out of the pool between guests IF I am home. Unfortunately, I am not always home and cannot attend to the pool in between, and I apologize in advance if there is hair from a previous guest. I have a robot skimmer which may be floating in the pool to help keep if clean. If it is in the pool, please remove before entering and replace when you are done (there are instructions on how to do that at the pool). If you have a dog that may heavily shed, perhaps brush if possible before attending so that less hair enters the pool. We want to keep it nice and clean for all of our guests so everyone has a positive experience. We also do not want to put extra stress on the pool filter so we can keep it running for everyone to use. I also leave a skimmer net by the pool if needed. FYI...It's NJ so the pool is only open from May until mid September. Please keep this in mind when booking and feel free to message me if you want to check on availability. NOTE: 1) PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY DOG THAT IS SHOWING ANY SIGNS OF SICKNESS OR ILLESS (DIARRHEA, VOMITING, COUGHING, LETHARGY). ALSO, I KNOW SNIFFSPOT ASKS ABOUT DOGS BEING VACCINATED BUT DOESN'T REQUIRE PROOF. I BEG OF ANY GUEST THAT YOUR DOG PLEASE BE HEALTHY AND FULLY VACCINATED. No running, diving or food/glass around pool. Please do not leave dogs unattended. 4) Raised deck attached to house not for use by guests. 5) Please return everything to it's proper place where you found it. 6) No alcohol or smoking. 7) Please do not let your dog pee or scratch at the pool equipment (filter/heater) behind the pool. 8) I do have some weekend blocks on the schedule. Backyard was great for our mini bernadoodle. He had a blast running around and exploring. Easy to find. Easy to get into the backyard.

When we arrived, Samuel wasn't there, but the lady who met us at the door was pleasant and helpful and then left us alone to play in the yard. The yard itself is secure. There is some lived-in stuff all piled up against the back of the house, but otherwise the yard was clean and just big enough for Billy to run.

Nice size yard for my puppy and her friend to run around. There are lots of places to sit and even extra chairs! There are poop bags as soon as you come in and a little sink where you can fill up your pups bowl if you didn't bring any water. If you're coming during the summer months bring mosquito repellent!

This is a great little spot in the heart of brooklyn, with just enough space to work on some agility jumps and frisbee catching (our pup is a beginner, so we weren’t looking for a big space— we’re doing small, slow tosses right now). Our scenthound loved it! Fully fenced so she couldn’t follow her nose into traffic or neighboring yards, and with so many smells from all the plants! Host was friendly and available but did her thing inside, meaning we really did have the yard to ourselves. Close enough to the J/M/Z for the train to be audible, but not so close that it was scary-loud— this was a bonus for us b/c train sounds are something we’re desensitizing our hound to (rescue from the rural south). There is street parking, with greater flexibility on weekends than during the week— we had no trouble at all. Thanks, Abigail!

Nice size backyard and well kept, lots of room for my girl to run around in and sniff her heart out. Abigail was ready for us by the time we got there and even left baggies for us in case we needed them. Previous to our visit she was also nice enough to ask if we needed any special accommodations. We will visit again!

Great indoor spot - plenty of room to run and play games with your dog and very secure, with multiple doors between the play area and the street. Note that the lock pad is electronic - I’m a Luddite who spent a couple minutes looking for the old school key pad, but it’s quite obvious when you realize it’s electronic.

Setting an appointment, accessing the play area was super easy. Lennon loved being able to run around off leash and the amenities are spotless. I will definitely be back and can’t recommend the zoomie room at Muddy Paws enough!

What a great spot in the middle of the city. Super fun for our Maddie to run around. The space was kept very clean and they have treats, toys and water bowls all for your use. Would 100% recommend and will be back for another play time. Thanks Muddy paws.

July 2023
We had a great time. Entering was easy. The instructions were very clear. The place is clean and swell maintained. This was my first time using Sniff Spot. I wanted to introduce my nervous dog to my friend’s puppy in a neutral location. I was raining so we were very glad we chose this indoor location. They ran around and chased toys… but probably aren’t friends just yet. Puppies have a lot more energy than dogs. Ha!

The space was great! We added on the grooming tub to use for our Great Dane and they had towels and shampoo for us to use. Everything was super clean. The instructions were very clear on how to enter, even though no one was there. The play area is big enough for a Great Dane to get his zoomies out.

This spot is perfect for controlled training with my GSD! We are able to work on our commands and agility and have playtime without having to worry about anything. It is always clean, secure and the staff is very friendly :)

FAQ about our New York dog parks

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 94% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the New York area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 371 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 78 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
