Dogs and their families can journey the meandering paths and trails to explore gardens, redwoods, seasonal fruit trees (you are welcome to try it) and endless relaxing areas with hammocks, benches, tables/chairs and even a covered outdoor bed. There is an indoor rustic lounge with sofa and table/chairs where we provide complimentary coffee/tea, water and treats for humans and dogs, dog toys/wipes/towels/blankets/waste bags, disposable rain ponchos for people and a covered outdoor patio with a sitting area to enjoy the redwoods. pup/s. The bathroom is on your first right as you enter the property, accessible from the outside deck and has a sign on the door. There is also an over 100 feet long outdoor dog playpen (32 inch tall) that provides a spacious activity area on a dirt/grass if you want to relax by our 1000+ years old redwood tree and keep an eye on your pup/s. Our redwoods sanctuary is perfect for celebrations, gatherings and private recharging in nature for dogs and their families. Only 15 min drive to dog friendly beaches, 10 min to 'Grove of Old Trees' (dog friendly) and to downtown in Occidental which is known for its shops, galleries and a famous dog friendly Howard Station Cafe. It's also an 8 min drive to 'St. Teresa of Avila Church' in Bodega where Alfred Hitchcock's film 'The Birds' was filmed. If you are visiting with little humans, please enjoy our outdoor toddler playground, swing (for kids and adults), an outdoor mud kitchen with kids' picnic table and a large sandbox with toys. I have 2.5 fully fenced in acres. I have goats on the property that are fenced separately, but dogs have access to smell them. Large dogs aren’t able to access goats, but a very small dog might be able to climb through the fence. There are horses, goats, donkeys, chickens nearby, but not on the property. There’s a small pond with fish and frogs, and pool. I have a small dog who loves to come visit if you like, or he can be kept inside (he is fixed). There are several cats on the property who are used to large dogs and very good at disappearing. I also have two small pastures that can be closed off to keep dogs in a smaller area if necessary. Lots of trees for shade. Our grass is always cut down and we keep the property watered so no sign of rattlesnakes. During the summer months, there are lots of stickers if the dogs venture off the grass. We have had several dogs come visit the property and they always love coming back. 2 people max per reservation. Additional guests can be added by purchasing the “Extra Guest Add-On” for each person. For directions, please take screenshots of the “photos for access” in case you lose reception in the area - in case people take off our Sniffspot logo signs. Plan to arrive 15 min before your scheduled visit to make sure you have time to find the spot, park, walk etc. We are home with our dogs so please don’t get too close to the big house to avoid our dogs from wanting to come out and play or any disturbances. Small house and basketball court ok to be around. Magical place for dogs and owners. The property is beautiful and interesting to explore and relax with benches throughout. Bring your own pic-nic and enjoy it in the secret garden. Or shoot some hoops in the basketball court. It’s an experience for both dog and owner. No more than 2 people per booking please. Come enjoy 3+ acres of fully fenced area! A true hidden gem with entrance from the awesome San Vincent public hike trail with access to free parking. A small creek with a tiny bit of water from the mountain passes through the property after a few days of rain. If plum trees have fruit feel free to pick some and enjoy! We have three dogs who will be kept indoors and out of sight during your visit. That said, if you’d like some canine company, two of them are happy to socialize. Wilson is our grumpy old male chihuahua mix (about 20 lbs) who may bark at first, then either ignore you or decide to play - it depends on his mood. The other is Ragnar, our 140-lb, 5-year-old Great Pyrenees who firmly believes he’s a giant baby. He loves everyone, drools freely, and will absolutely leave hair on you. Getting into the property is an adventure of its own, just follow the signs. 2 min walk from parking lot. Once you are here you can explore freely and take it all in :) Fun gopher holes they can put their nose in, but please stop your dog from digging! 😅 IMPORTANT: Public parking at entrance of hike trail and entrance to property is via hike trail. Please come prepared! We do not provide bags or trash cans (so please take your trash and dog’s poop with you) we do not provide water either. We tried and the water in the bowls did not stay fresh for long. Restrooms are not available. Note for reactive dogs: We completely understand how important safety is for reactive dogs, and many guests choose our space for that reason. That said, please note that the trail to get to our property is public and not something we can control. You may run into another dog or horse on the public trail. Additionally, at the corner of the western side, there is heavy fencing and dense bushes that act as an additional barrier, but a neighboring dog might be present. Our space itself is secure, fully fenced, and a safe environment. All just for you. No other animals inside the property unless you request a playdate with one of our dogs. We have a small farm on the west side of Petaluma. We offer a large, fully fenced, paddock at the front of our property for Sniffspot. We often have other dogs on the property as we run a dog daycare/boarding business but we will secure all other animals in another paddock at the back of our property when we have visitors. Our main gate code is on the keypad when you pull up. Please park to the left near the blue Toyota pickup when you drive in (there is a sign). The best gate to enter the SniffSpot is towards the main gate entrance (near the wood fence).

Almost an acre of pastureland overlooking Jacoby Creek Valley for dogs to sniff, roam, play, and most of all be off leash and in nature. Come with your dog alone or bring some friends and dog pals (up to 6 total) to romp and chase and play while you relax. There are some toys and obstacles, water, and lots to dig. Please bring your own balls. There may be cattle in the adjoining field below, occasionally deer though rarely in the daytime. Chairs are set for a pastoral view, particularly lovely at sunset. People and cars may go by on the driveway. The spot is all yours when you are there and with respect to reactive dogs, I won't greet you unless we set that up in advance. I want the dogs to feel that this is their space and we won't intrude. If your plans change you can cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours prior to your reservation through the app but it does not allow changes after that. The new picnic table is meant for your use, please keep dogs with muddy paws off the table. Please no smoking or using while visiting. Enjoy!
