Fencing details: We need to keep coyotes out and goats and sheep safe, so we have a very secure perimeter fence surrounding 24 total acres. Some of the interior cross fencing is lower and these areas are available for use if appropriate for your dog.

Description

Tons of space for active dogs to run and play at this working ranch located just southeast of Austin (10 miles from Southpark Meadows). Recommended stay at least one full hour to explore fully. The ranch has multiple fenced areas that can be used (smaller areas if your dog isn't trained to come can be arranged). Otherwise, enjoy the huge 5+ acre playground featuring stock tank pond, picnic table, some shade. Refreshments available upon request for a small donation.

Hazards

Note on algae: seasonally, the algae "blooms" and when it is not attractive, I notify visitors. According to Extension office guidelines, the algae we see is not the terrible toxic blue-green variety, however it is not feasible to test it definitively. No algae is "good" for animals, so please keep this in mind if you visit during seasons when there is a bloom. All of my livestock use the stock tank ponds as a water source year round. If the weather is crappy or if you want to do a morning outing and would like your morning coffee, we make THE BEST coffee (it's a little strong). Or to order. Just please let us know ahead of time especially if you need a particular additive to your coffee. We always have all 4 kinds of sweeteners but cream or creamer is special order. Teas: we have a large selection of herbal and other teas. Same additives as above for coffee.

Cold Beverages$1

We have a refrigerator stocked with cold sodas, seltzer waters, water, juices and miscellaneous choices. Examples currently available are Pepsi, Coke Zero, Cascade (sweetened lo-cal soda), Zevia, Green soda Lemonade or Sour Cherry (stevia sweetened), variety of unsweetened flavored Seltzers, regular bottled water, Cranapple, and Body Armour Lyte. Please choose this option for one can/bottle of any of our choices. If you would like more than one, feel free to make a donation in person.

We have a "shower" area for your pup with hot and cold water and an adjustable nozzle. Dog shampoo is available; towels are not included, drip dry seasonal use is recommended or BYOT (bring your own towel).

We have people and dog friendly livestock including: dog-tolerant goats, seasonally lambs or goat kids, a gentle arabian horse diagnosed with cancer rescued to spend her days here, or a playmate dog (3 personalities to choose from).

Misting Canopy!$5

Relax in this shaded oasis for up to 30 minutes of your booked time after running around and playing... Closed for the season but will reopen next Spring. Advance inquiry into reservations required due to set-up and seasonal issues. Please inquire prior to ordering this extra to ensure its availability.

Morning Meditation Trail$5

Specifically designed for a relaxing morning stroll... enjoy several stops, private and super relaxing. BYO yoga mat or pouf but chairs/other items are available in case you don't want to carry yours. Each stop designed to be relaxing and different from the others. Ice cold water (or hot herbal tea seasonally) provided at the beautiful pond station and your pup(s) can run around safely in this fully fenced area. Please reserve times earlier than 11 am to enjoy this trail in the shade.

Snacks (human)$1

We always have salty and sweet snacks available. Examples include (some or all may be available on any given day): Single serving "Frito Lay" brand chips, Belvita or other cookie or brownie treats, 100% fruit leather snacks (yummy and lo-cal), Fresh fruit seasonally (inquire prior to ordering for current selection available).

Take a Walk on the Wild Side!$5

We are developing a fun and adventurous trail through some classic Texas brush country terrain. It will not be a very long or taxing trail but will probably be fun for dogs who enjoy flushing critters and humans who enjoy bushwacking. Please ask if you are interested and we will let you know how it's progressing. Not ready yet :)

Vintage Tractor Sprinkler$5

If your dog enjoys sprinklers, this is a great option. You can turn it "on" for up to 30 minutes of fun play time!

Our place is a beautiful animal-oriented property. It is technically a working ranch with cows, sheep, goats, chickens and horses (many cross fenced areas so livestock can be separated from dogs or not). Ideally suited for doggie fun, we have a combination of open space and "wooded" areas and there's a great pond for dogs to cool off and play. We have plans to add agility obstacles in the near future. For a great overnight getaway, we also have a guest house that can be rented. Best of all, we are located 30 minutes from Austin and San Marcos.

	Only one booking is allowed at a time at any spot and there is an enforced 30 min buffer between all bookings to ensure dogs in separate bookings do not meet.
