RULES & EXPECTATIONS - Supervision: Clients are responsible for supervising their dogs and any accompanying children at all times. Barkside staff are not responsible for unattended dogs or children. - Property Use: Dogs and children must not dig, damage, or destroy property, plants, or trees. Damage to property, trees, or equipment may incur replacement or repair fees billed to the Client. - Waste Management: Clients must pick up all dog waste. Barkside reserves the right to charge a $50 cleanup fee for unattended waste. - Behavior: Aggressive or unsafe behavior by dogs will result in immediate removal from the premises. Barkside reserves the right to refuse future rentals to clients whose dogs cannot be safely managed. - Dogs must be in good health, current on vaccinations, and free from parasites. LIABILITY, RESPONSIBILITY & INDEMNIFICATION - Clients are fully responsible for their dogs’ actions, including injury or damage to other dogs, people, property, or Barkside equipment. - Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless Barkside, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from their dog or children’s actions. -The Client understands that participation in outdoor activities involves inherent risks including slips, falls, scratches, bites, insect exposure, weather-related risks, and environmental hazards. The Client agrees to assume all such risks and release, indemnify, and hold harmless Barkside, its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims arising from participation in the Service, except in cases of proven gross negligence. FAILURE TO RETRIEVE / ABANDONMENT If a dog is not picked up on the scheduled date and time, and Barkside is unable to contact the Client or any listed emergency contact, the dog will continue to receive care at Barkside at the standard boarding rate, plus any applicable fees. If the dog remains unclaimed for seventy-two (72) hours with no successful contact, the dog may be deemed abandoned in accordance with applicable Alberta laws. At that point, Barkside may, at its sole discretion and without further notice, transfer ownership or custody of the dog to a licensed rescue organization, humane society, veterinary clinic, or municipal animal control authority. Client remains fully responsible for all charges incurred up to the time of transfer, including boarding, care, veterinary services, transportation, and administrative costs. Client expressly waives any further claim to the dog once lawful transfer occurs.
