55Host was great . The place was terrific .
45Stunning area, especially with all the leaves falling. Hard to navigate at times as the leaves on the ground may have covered tracks - but we had a really good time 😊
45I can tell this property is amazing in the fall and winter, but it was pretty overgrown when we arrived. The picnic areas were very fun and our dogs had a great time running around the clearing. I look forward to returning once the weather gets colder! Oh and definitely check yourself and your pups for ticks!!! Expect a nice woodsy camping environment :)
55Such an awesome spot! My dog and his buddy love to explore in the woods and this was the perfect place! The chairs and hammocks were awesome, and the area was super clean! We’ll be back for sure :)
55The spot was beautiful and super peaceful:) our boy does not like other animals so we appreciated the host respecting our wish to be away from other animals. Overall a great visit with lots of woods to explore.
55Such a neat place to explore! Wooded, with trails throughout and a creek. There isn’t fencing, but there are a lot of natural barriers. The hammocks and fire pits and picnic tables make it a real nice place to hang out and enjoy the forest.

Description

Please confirm date and time prior to reservation 😃 Hoosier’s on the ridge sits on 15 acres right next to Yellowwood State Forest! This land provides all terrain options for whatever your dog desires. You can stay close to your car in a field setting or walk deep into the valley to explore the creek bed on a hot day. I have built 4 campsites on the property (also for rent,) so there are 4 unique sitting spots, hammocks, tables, and fire pits. We have 2 golden retrievers (1M/1FM, both fixed) and a golden doodle (1m/fixed) who can either be put in the house during your visit or come socialize, whatever you prefer. We would be happy to accommodate large groups, dog social clubs, etc., just contact us. We hope to see you soon so that your dog may roam the hallowed ground of Brown County. -Hoosier’s on the Ridge

**Winter Update! If it has been below freezing for an extended period of time we will have a partially iced pond. It is NOT safe to have dogs running on the ice. Please message for current pond status and plan accordingly. A recall is needed when ice is present on the pond** Enjoy a fully fenced (4 foot wire mesh livestock style fencing) run through mowed grass, NEW tall natural meadow (we are “rewilding” a portion of our yard to native plants), two short wooded trails and access to a large pond with dock. Dogs are welcome to swim—bring towels and be prepared for some mud if it’s been raining or you have a pond monster doggy. Woods have wonderful smells, my dogs sometimes find delightful things to roll in. A hose is available for use on warm days and there is a nearby Tractor Supply if your pup needs a spa treatment after their romp. We do have chickens on site and ask you not allow your dog to harass them as you enter and leave (chickens are in a separate fenced area and in a coop/run). My dogs will be in the house—some barking may happen on your arrival but they will not be loose. Wildlife may be encountered (deer, squirrels, crawfish, muskrats, many birds and snapping turtles). **Note: I didn’t want to claim the site as accessible as it is grass and some uneven ground, but feel free to reach out if you need an accommodation to access the spot and we can discuss what is possible** We welcome all.
