55We had such a wonderful time! My dog is leash reactive, so we can't take him to dog parks. It was SO nice to take him and his friends to 4Paws and they could run and play as if they were in their own private dog park!
35This spot was just ok for me. It was super muddy (of course that’s not the owners fault) and there were no towels like the other ones I have been to. Lots of toys which my dog enjoyed, but the muddiness made the experience not super enjoyable.
55Amazing as always!
55It was great! All the extras really made it special like the trampoline, agility items, and provided chuck it throwers. More than enough apace for my too energetic Aussies. Will definitely be regulars.
55Lovely clean sport with tons of space for the dogs!
55What a great Sniff Spot! Easy to find, easy parking, huge space with a wide variety of terrain. Lots of shade for a sunny day. Great seating areas in multiple locations. Hope to come back for sure!
55Always one of my favorite places. Plenty of area to run and wooded area to walk through. Plenty of shade and well maintained.
55My Clover really liked the space to run around. A lot of care was put into making this a special place and she can’t wait to go back.
55The property is awesome!! My friend and I couldn't figure out how to get in the gate initially, but when we figured it out, we felt so silly lol. We still had the perfect amount of time to wear the dogs out. My boy loved the creek and the spring pole tire, while my friend's girl fetched balls in the field. My friend is trying to find different things that her dog likes to get her more active, and this place was great to try a variety of activities. They even had a long line for the creek, since it's unfenced!! If you have multiple dogs, you'll want to bring an extra though, or take turns with them. My friend's dog doesn't care for the water, so it worked out perfectly for us. There's several obstacles for the dog's to sniff and do stimulating things with lol. It was awesome and we'll definitely be back!! Thank you for sharing your space!!
55Great spot! Easy to find, park, and access. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. There was fresh water, toys, and bug spray available at the entrance. My tiny dog appreciated the field grass that was cut nice and short and my other dog loved the giant pile of sand she found!

Distractions seen/heard from the spot

Other dogsSometimes

Other dogs

Sometimes

1) my dogs will be inside the house during any visits with the blinds closed. they will bark occasionally if they hear visitors who are close to the house. they are quick to quiet down. 2) my neighbors have indoor dogs. our fences do not touch at all. if their dogs are outside for potty breaks or play time, they can see visitors near the main entrance and will bark out of excitement. if you walk further back on the property, their dogs can't see you any longer and will quiet down. 3) the neighborhood is not a great dog walking neighborhood, so dogs walking by on a leash is very rare.

Sometimes

1) recently, we have had a neighborhood cat that likes to hang out on our concrete driveway which is not in the fenced in area. we have never seen the cat come on our property. we ask people to ignore the cat. our dogs do not like cats, so we don't want to encourage him from coming on the property. 2) the neighbors that live across the creek and through the woods have a rooster. the rooster can't be seen but can be heard every once in a while.

1) we do live on the property. if we happen to come home during your visit, we will park at the end of the driveway and walk through the driveway gate straight to the house. we are never outside in the yard during anyone's visit unless we have permission with the visitor beforehand because we want to respect your privacy. if your dog is reactive to strangers, we certainly appreciate messaging us ahead of the visit. 2) it is rare to see people walking by in the neighborhood. 3) from the back of the property, you can't see anyone at all.

Description

Every spot is very unique which is the fun part of Sniffspot. We want visitors to have clear expectations before their first visit; this is why we provide so much detail in the description. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions, so we can ensure you have the best visit possible. Parking: Please park in the gravel driveway, not the concrete driveway. Do not park in the grass as it becomes damaged over time. If you arrive early, feel free to hang out on the swing next to the gravel driveway. Chain Link Gate Entrance: Walk down the gravel driveway to access the chain link gate entrance. Next to the man gate, there are water canteens, water bowl, dog toys, dog towels, bug spray, white bucket for trash, and dog treats majority of the time. We do our best to keep the water canteens at the entrance full with water. The only water hose to refill water canteens or rinse your dog off is at the house. There is a water hose on a reel at the front and back of the house. At the entrance, we have a solar light which only lights up the entrance. If you are comfortable being on the property past sunset, head lamps and flashlights can be provided. We will leave the outside house lights on which provides light in the back yard but not the whole property. Also, if you turn your car headlights on, the lights point directly at the field providing some light. Nature: 3 sides of the property run parallel to a creek and woods, so you might see critters (i.e. turtles, snakes, deer, raccoons, birds, crawdads, ants, etc.). Closed toe shoes are a good idea to wear. In the wooded section, there are wood chips, so they easily get caught in flip flops. Open Field: There is a large open field when you first walk through the man gate. In the field, there is a metal glider, two metal chairs, two swing chairs, and table. There is a dome climber play center for kids and a trampoline. Dogs and kids are welcome to jump on the trampoline. (Note: There is no longer a safety net around the trampoline.) The open field holds water after a good rain. We put straw down to help prevent mud. Woods: Towards the back of the property behind the house, there is 2.3 acres of open space with plenty of shade from the mature trees with two hammocks and a fire pit. If the field is wet, we suggest hanging out behind the house in the woods. The ground is always more dry. House: Our house is located on the property within the fenced in area. During visits, we always stay indoors with our dogs with the blinds closed to give guests their privacy. If we happen to arrive from work or errands during a visit, we park at the end of the driveway and walk through the driveway gate straight to the house. We try to message our guests ahead of time if we might arrive during visiting hours. If your dog is reactive to strangers, we certainly appreciate a message stating that, so we can plan better. Creek/Kiddie Pool: To the right of the large open field, there is another man gate that provides access to a creek. The creek is not fenced in but is on our property. The creek has a small sandy beach for digging, two lounging chairs, and a small table. Our dogs swim in the creek almost every day. We keep a long orange leash at the creek gate in case your dog wants to enjoy the creek but has selective listening skills. The leash is long enough for the dog to get in the creek while the owner stands on the bank. (Note: The previous owners buried their trash for years on the creek bed. We are in the process of cleaning it up. The section that has trash is barricaded off with black netting, so dogs can't access the area with glass, metal, etc.) We understand some people don't want their dogs swimming in the creek. We have a kiddie pool, 30 gal black plastic stock tank, and splash pad available during warmer months. The water hose is on a hose reel at the back of the house. Feel free to fill it up with water for your dogs to cool off. Neighbors: We have neighbors that have indoor dogs. Our fences do not touch at all. However, when their dogs are outside in their fenced in back yard, they can see visitors at the main entrance. The neighbor's dogs will bark out of excitement when they see visitors. If you walk back further on the property, they can't see you and won't bark. If your dogs are reactive to the sight or sound of other dogs, this spot might not be the best fit for your dogs. Lastly, we have a neighbor across the creek and through the woods with a rooster. The rooster can't be seen but can be heard at times.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

The previous owners buried their trash on the creek bank for years which is outside the fenced in area. We have cleaned 70% of the trash up, but there is a section beyond the chairs and umbrella. The section with the trash (i.e. glass, metal, etc.) has been barricaded off with black netting, so dogs do not cut their paws. We love that our property is completely fenced in and has a creek that runs parallel to the large field. We spend most of our free time outside working in the yard and playing with our dogs. Please feel at home and enjoy our little slice of paradise.
