55This is a great spot for a trail walk! It’s very easy to get to, and the trail is beautifully marked. My dog splashed in the small streams and thoroughly enjoyed sniffing in the woods and doing doggy parkour on logs and stumps. I loved having a chance to explore a trail and be in nature with no worries about meeting another dog.
55Trail was short but my boy had a fun time sniffing off leash!

Description

Welcome to Fun in Freeville: Trail Edition! A short trail for your dog that likes to explore the woods. There is a fire pit about 100 yards in with seating and some natural doggy obstacles for those interested in agility and parkour exercises. We currently have one open trail that runs the length of our 5.5 acre property and back, and we hope to add more this spring. Our favorite times to walk this trail are in the fall and winter. It can get pretty wet during certain times of the year. I would definitely wear tall waterproof footwear in the spring and summer and use bug spray. There's a large fire pit with benches and a picnic table that you're welcome to use. We are doing our best to maintain and further develop the trail but please be aware that there is uneven ground throughout and watch your step. As you walk through, you will encounter different types of forest and trees. It's always fun to bring binoculars if you're into birding. You might get lucky and see our resident barred owls! Our property also includes a fully fenced yard you are welcome to use as well. See our other spot for more details and information: https://www.sniffspot.com/to/3yhyy

Hazards

Upstate NY rural wildlife (deer, turkey, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, ticks, mosquitos, etc.); uneven ground/tripping hazards; mud; running/standing water during certain times of year; prickly plants. Although there is only one person we allow to hunt on our property, and he does not hunt when we have visitors, and we are not aware of any hunting on adjacent properties, please exercise extra caution during hunting season (bright clothing recommended for you and your dog).

Hi, we're Natasha, Joshua, and Avalanche! Avalanche is our deaf 6-year-old bull terrier. She loves people and does therapy dog visits with Cornell Companions. We know how challenging it can be to live life with a reactive dog and we wanted to make our space available to others working through similar challenges or who just want to enjoy the outdoors with their pup. We love hiking, foraging, swimming and enjoying nature.
