Description

Beautiful sloped pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. It changes by the season. In summer, the grass grows tall and you can enjoy the shade of alders in the lower portion. A seasonal creek runs through it in winter and spring. Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees and native plants here and there. A sheltered area allows you to sit in the shade or out of the rain, and that's where you'll also find most amenities, such as toys and water. Access: There are two driveways onto the property. Use the north entry, with the "Pepper's Pasture" sign. After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "Sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Construction/site work: in spring of '25, you'll see that we are building beside the driveway that leads to the sniffspot. If your experience is disturbed by activity at that site (it's infrequent but can be unpredictable and might be noisy), please contact me for a promo code for your next visit.

Hazards

There is tall grass, bumpy terrain, and possible holes and obstacles, so there are risks of turning an ankle or tripping. There are some prickly things like blackberries. There could be toxic mushrooms or other things that could be bad to eat. There is a seasonal creek in winter/spring. Supervise or prevent any stick chewing, and choose balls that are big enough to avoid risk of lodging in your dog's throat. Ticks may be present and tick-borne diseases can be serious--I recommend that you consult with your vet about protecting your pets with flea & tick preventative medication if you haven't already. Wasp nests might be present. Please let me know about any issues to me. Guests almost never book for after dark, but if you'd like to try it, plan ahead, because it will be dark. I've invested in one good flashlight so far. Let me know what additions you would like to see for after-dark visits.
