Fencing details: There is an agility area which is fenced. It is not a totally secure fence, though I plan to make it so in 2021. The only other fencing is around pasture areas to contain livestock.

Description

Our Sniffspot has been referred to as Dog Heaven. We are in a remote area in the Appalachian Foothills of SE Ohio. We have farm roads, mowed trails and open fields you and your dog can enjoy, but the favorite place for most dogs is our pond. Our pond features a dock that dogs love to jump off of. There is also a large covered pavilion with tables and chairs. A basket of water toys is next to the dock. There is an outhouse there and well, it is primitive, but clean (unless the mice make nests, but I try to keep ahead of that) In dry weather the pond is accessible by vehicle but it is also a good walk for people and dogs, about 1/2 a mile from the parking area (and mostly uphill). This pavilion also has our "Sugar Shack" attached, which is where we boil down maple sap in February and March to make syrup. The Maple Grove is up a trail above the pond. **My dogs swim in this pond most days in the spring, summer & fall. The pond has an aerator and also is treated with Pond Blue, both of which help to eliminate the possibility of dangerous algae blooms. There is also no fertilization of fields that could run off into the pond. **

Hazards

There is wildlife here, from deer to coyotes. We do have a lot of briars, but there are cleared trails. Ticks are probably the biggest concern. There are ticks, including deer ticks. If your dog poops on a trail or somewhere it might be stepped in, please pick it up or kick it into the brush. No one likes to step in s--t. Otherwise, enjoy a good walk with your best friend.

I have 2 Australian Shepherds, which I do agility with. I live on 200 acres in SE Ohio. I have signed on to be a host. My dogs are so lucky to have the property we have outside our door. I do believe in off leash exercise. I would like all dogs to be able to enjoy what mine do on a daily basis. I do not have experience with reactive dogs.

***We just enlarged...doubled the size of our fenced in area! (Aug 2024). And added a picnic table, fire pit, bench & hammock! Our 1st pup together gave us such inspiration to do something for other pooches! This fenced in area is a private area for your pooch to run, play & of course SNIFF! Travelers...we are located, not far off of I77, near Seneca Lake, Senecaville exit. If you're traveling, it's a great place to pull off & let your dog have a break! We have a private restroom on site!

	Only one booking is allowed at a time at any spot and there is an enforced 30 min buffer between all bookings to ensure dogs in separate bookings do not meet.
	This spot is set for Booking, which means you will be instantly confirmed for any booking you request. You will receive the address and access instruction immediately following booking.
	Visits can be moved or cancelled up to 2 hours before a visit.
	Visits can be extended and dogs can be added throughout the visit.
