55It’s a great place to run around, with trees, a stream, just a naturally diverse terrain Lou loved to explore.
45My dog and I had a great time running around and playing fetch in this backyard. We'd definitely come back. Pros: -The backyard has a diverse terrain and is definitely not boring. -There was plenty of room for fetch and practicing recall. -It was pretty - The animals in neighboring yards were a great minimal distraction for practicing recall with my dog, but were minimal enough that they weren't noticeable most of the time Cons: - There were some large rusty screws sticking up from some sort of concrete base in the back corner of the yard that are not super easy to avoid, so be cautious - Parking: we aren't supposed to park in the driveway, and this is a 2 lane road where I didn't see any cars parked on the side the entire drive there (~2 miles) so I ended up parking on the side of a different road just before the property. It was a mildly dangerous walk then back to the property along the road, and I didn't feel super legit parking on this private road either.
55We had a great time in this neat space! Our dog loved zooming around and hopping on the logs, and tossing around pine cones. The hosts were lovely and very understanding. It is muddy after rain but I think it adds to the fun for the pups, just be sure to wear practical shoes :)
55Arrived at sniff spot location and was hesitate about parking on the street because I didn’t think and or saw any other cars parked. Walked into the area and my pup loved it, it has rained the night before so it was a bit muddy but knew it before arriving. Great space for him to run around and went on little laps since there was a little trial that goes in a circle since he was a bit obsessed with a pine cone that he found.
45A nice huge yard for puppy romps. Lots of shade and stuff to investigate. There are a couple spots with foxtails to watch out for.
55What a wonderful spot for our girl! Our pit is extremely reactive to strangers and other dogs so this place was like heaven to her!! She ran and zoomed around like a puppy all off leash!!!! I am so grateful a spot like this exists!!! We got to briefly meet the home owners and they were super nice! The chicken coop did attract our girl but fortunately she was rescued and stayed in a home with chickens so she was ok - and we could keep her occupied in another part of the yard - I did feel kinda bad for the chickens though cause when she went to the coop they freaked out a bit. Bring water cause their are small ponds that would not be good for dogs to drink - really happy this place exists and we will be back for sure!
35A wonderful spot, however, there’s a chicken coop that’s not fenced which sent my dog over the top. We were there at 7:30 am for our appointment and I apologize to the owners as I’m sure the commotion woke them if they weren’t awake already. I was really excited about having an open backyard for him to run around, but my dog is reactive and it just wasn’t possible for us to stay once he saw the chickens. Otherwise, it’s a perfect spot and there’s lots of space for dogs to have fun, run and sniff.

Private 2 Acre Forest Swimming Hole In Rural Woodside (Update: 7 stairs added)

This is a private, undeveloped, forested spot. If you are interested in this spot, you and your dog should be up for a mini adventure. This spot is not a manicured, backyard park. It is wild and beautiful, and a rare find in this area. THERE IS NO TRASH SERVICE AT THIS FOREST LOCATION. PACK EVERYTHING OUT WITH YOU, INCLUDING DOG POOP BAGGIES. The trail starts at the west (downhill) end of the parking spot, and winds downhill to the creek (there are a couple of switchbacks). The trail from the parking area to the creek is less than 5 minutes long. At the bottom of the trail, is a deck. Beyond the deck is a year-round creek with a swimming hole. There are fish, frogs, newts, and crawdads. All wildlife is protected, so please don't catch or remove them. You may walk up and down along the creek exploring, as long as you turn around if you see a waterfall downstream or a house in the distance. The trail that leads downhill to the creek is intermediate, not for beginners or flip-flops. There should be no poison oak or ticks on the trail, but if you venture off the trail, you may encounter poison oak or ticks. There are blackberry bushes to the sides of the trail that resemble poison oak. There should be no foxtails. You may see wild animals. As a wild spot, you may encounter typical hazards that are present in most local forest trails, such as wildlife, water, and trip-and-fall hazards. This is a private spot, and there should be no other people or dogs during your booking. If you see someone during your booking, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can take steps to prevent them from trespassing again. There is no lighting at this spot, so if you book before sunrise or after sunset, please bring a headlamp or flashlight. There is no trash collection service at this location, so please pack out any trash. Thank you!
