Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, check out Sniffpass. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you have older dog/s and would like to drive below the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Magical Mossy Forest

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a large mystical woodland adventure for dogs in Redmond on the way to Carnation. Boots are recommended in the winter rain. MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors...). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat (we are very popular with dog walkers and their packs of furry clients), a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.

Lake Cavanaugh K9 Ranch

22 forested acres with private trails and an open field area located in the power line clearing. Includes private land access to state forest trails with views. Once you park you will see the trail entrance into the forest in front of you. Take the trail down to the creek. Water levels in the creek vary depending on the time of year. Cross the creek using the foot bridge and head through the forest. In about .3 miles you will come out into the powering line clearing. Feel free to explore everything in front of you and to the left (north). There are several wide open grass spaces in the power line to play fetch or just let the dogs run and be dogs. I will send you detailed instructions for the hike up the mountain upon request. This is a real hike and I recommend hiking attire. Please bring water for yourself and your dogs. The hike is about 3.5 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain. I recommend booking at least 2 hours to complete. If you want to hang out and enjoy the views you may want to book more than 2 hours.

CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! Emily's Private Dog Park In Sedro Woolley

Enjoy this completely private dog park on over 5 acres of property on the beautiful Bacus Hill. To get here, follow google maps most of the way. When you see the mailboxes on the left (a little before where maps takes you), you'll also see an area where you can pull off and park. There is a maintained path that leads straight down to a bridge, once you are across the bridge, the entire open area is available for you and your dog to roam and explore. On the walk down, you will be able to see our house and our fenced yard with our dogs, but once you cross the bridge it will be private. A few warnings/disclaimers: 1. There is wildlife (bears, cougars, etc.) in the area. Use at your own risk. 2. The bridge has some (fairly obvious) broken/soft spots on the west side. Watch your step! 3. Beyond the open area to the east and south begins to get into other neighbor's property. It is not the end of the world if your dog goes there for a bit, but please try to keep them mostly in the open area. 4. Watch out for occasional dog poop. We let our dogs poop on walks and every now and then it happens to be on the path. Generally clear, but good to keep an eye out.

If you are interested in visiting here, please message and if it works out I’ll be happy to accommodate you. 07/01/22- Important: The Sniffspot platform does not allow hosts the option to approve or cancel reservations, as such I have blocked my calendar to more easily control reservations. I often don’t know until last minute when the forest manager I’m working with for the DNR forest cleanup project is on-site, the logging will take place hopefully this winter. — This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old-growth forest, and phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet with the exception of the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. This property was once a show home, but a fire took place over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the ruins that remain are minimal, it sets an interesting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photoshoot. Within the property is a small orchard, we do ask to try to not let the pups do their business there. Spring 2022 Update: One picnic table have been added to the property.
