55Quiet fun hiking trails! Nice area for ball tossing and dog play. Lot’s of woods to explore and nice placement of poop waste cans making it easy to keep the sniff spot clean. We had a good time!
55We had a fantastic time exploring the trails. There are so many great ones to find!
55Great trail
55This place is the real deal! The trails really do feel like real woodland hiking, and they have the best/most clear signage of any Sniffspot I’ve been to. Plus the DNR land in the back adds that much more acreage. There’s multiple ponds and it’s fun to hike from one to another to the clearing, etc.
55The pack had a fantastic time at Black Pond Farm! It was a beautiful day, perfect for exploring the woods, climbing rocks, leaping over logs, and having a little splash in the pond.
55Brenda and Tim are very thoughtful hosts. The pond and Club Zoomies are well stocked with toys, and they’re even building a new pergola for the rainy season!
55Great! We will be back!
55I love this little spot. It looks like there's been a bit more landscaping around the big pond this time and River LOVED running circles around it.
55We had so much fun out there today! 10/10 would recommend
55What an unbelievable piece of property! You could spend days exploring this wonderland. It’s such a lovely experience. My two furballs had the time of their lives. It is such a fantastic place with water and well-marked trails—you name it. Want to get a workout in? Book this place. If you’re up to it, I would book at least two hours. You won’t find a better experience.

Distractions seen/heard from the spot

Other dogsSometimes

Other dogs

Sometimes

Our farm dogs are away from the designated Sniffspot area and trained to run for the house if a car is in the Sniffspot parking area (to get a treat! 😉) We have had reports of hearing dogs barking “in the distance” rarely, from the far side of the off leash private play area (Club Zoomies Zone) it would be possible to hear a neighbor’s dog, although it is unlikely.

Description

It’s always been very safe for off leash woodland adventures...because it feels like you have it all to yourself. You begin down at the lower pond by the castle and rock wall, Following a laidback walk in the shade up to the upper pond, woods and off leash park. There is bug spray along the trail in case you forget to use some and want it. Please respect other visitors and make sure to put your doggie bags in the provided trash bins, and PLEASE do not put your doggie bags in the fire pit!!!

Hazards

:: Native woodland experience. :: There are squirrels and various wild birds that may be seen or heard during your visit, so if your dog is reactive or has poor recall make sure they are on a leash as not to wander off! 🐾 The single top wire on the fence on the pasture side is electric, so I personally do not recommend touching it, although if you take a blade of grass and lay it on the single top wire you will be able to tell whether it is on or off. Again, I do not recommend doing this however :). 🐾 We are out in the country and people may rarely light off fireworks or shoot guns in the distance. They are not close to the property, but the noise carries. 🐾 Other sounds that you may hear while visiting a rural Sniffspot property include: chainsaws, lawn mowers, weed whackers, tractors, rented heavy equipment, dump trucks making deliveries, livestock in nearby pastures or roosters crowing in distant chicken coops. This spot has a water feature, make sure to review these guidelines for visiting spots with water before visiting: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water 😊 Happy Sniffing!

We’ve been at Black Pond Farm since 1998, and our son started the Sniffspot to help with college. He is done with school and moved on to his career so we’re now taking care of the Sniffspot. If you can think of anything to improve our Sniffspot or you have any questions let us know!
