You’ll have the property completely to yourself during your visit. Our own pets are kept indoors, ensuring a quiet and private experience. Beyond the treeline there’s a small lake on one side and wooded wetlands on the other. The lake is beyond the spot/property line. * Wildlife: deer and wild turkey are seen daily; you may also spot herons, raccoons, possums, squirrels, and songbirds. * Insects & plants: ticks and poison ivy may be present — please use normal outdoor precautions. * Parking: park near the barn, or by the carport in snowy conditions. Driveway and parking are gravel/dirt. * Water: a hose is available except during freezing months. * Guests must clean up after their dogs and stay within the backyard/play area for safety and comfort. 🔒 Security Cameras For safety, wildlife monitoring, and property protection, security cameras are located throughout Serendipity Woods, including the driveway, barn area, exterior of the house, and other outdoor points around the property. We also have indoor cameras inside our private residence, which are used for home security only and do not record or monitor any areas accessible to guests. Some cameras record both video and sound and may be triggered by motion activity. These are standard rural safety measures that help us stay aware of weather, wildlife, and property activity.

Enjoy a beautiful walk on a network of trails that traverse rolling hills in and out of the forest. At the back of the property, you will enjoy some of the best and most private scenery in Oakland County. As summer turns to fall there are a lot fewer bugs and beautiful color changes. Some trees are changing already. Please stay on the cleared paths on the West side and South portion of the property due to work being done on other sections. There are wooden arrow signs that help you navigate to the back of the property and back to the parking area. Thank you. Activities: Walk, run, off road bike, yoga, cross skiing, snowshoe, agility, herding (bring your own sheep ), search, Frisbee, scent work, etc. Wildlife: Deer, many birds- hawks, vultures, turkeys, various song birds, rabbits, raccoons, groundhogs, squirrels. Access for with trucks, trailers, equipment, sheep, dogs, etc. 14’ gate and a 4’ gate walk-in. The entire 10+ acres (we used to have horses, cows and sheep) is fenced (4’ farm fence). For now, feel free to wonder the entire fenced 10 acres. For Your First Visit: It is a good idea to walk your dog on a leash around the perimeter until you are comfortable. Although it is fenced, it is not possible to know every dog’s individual behavior. The tornado siren goes off every first Saturday of the month at 1:00. No joy. I am often available if needed for questions or help. We welcome suggestions! Enjoy! Winter: This Sniffspot will be open all winter. ***The snow isn’t always plowed immediately. We do our best. You may have to walk from the road (if the city also has plowed). Use your discretion. Be safe! ***There is a heated bucket for winter. Never any poisonous pesticides or fertilizer used. All Natural! Seating and doggie pool available (request pool is emptied before leaving and not filled more than half or you can’t tip over to empty). No dogs in surrounding yards. Great for big and small dogs! Lots of trees and shrubbery to give you a private oasis. Please close the gate when leaving. Note: I bought my house with a large after one of my dogs was attacked at a dog park causing 2 surgeries and very expensive vet bills. Enjoy my yard with piece of mind.
