Rescuing with love in Columbia, Missouri (est. 2021) ❣️ We are a family that loves Chihuahuas! We have a combined 30 years of experience with providing Chihuahuas a safe, happy, and loving home. Klaudia, our founder, has direct experience with a multitude of health and behavioral issues with Chihuahuas and is constantly improving her educational and capability with animal welfare training and rescue seminars. Our Core Five pack of chihuahuas, Boss, Gunner, Zim, Penny, & Zelda, have become expert fosters brothers and sister, helping to acclimate any new rescue and providing them with the comfort and entertainment a dog needs in a new environment.

At Lil’ Paws, Big Hearts, our unwavering mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome chihuahuas in need, while fostering a compassionate community that advocates for their well-being. With dedication in our hearts, we strive to provide a haven for these pint-sized companions who often find themselves abandoned, neglected, or misunderstood. Through our tireless efforts, we aim to transform their lives by offering them a second chance at love and happiness. Our commitment extends beyond mere rescue; we are devoted to nurturing these dogs physically and emotionally, addressing their unique needs and fears. By offering medical care, socialization, and training, we prepare them for a brighter future in forever homes. Join us in our mission to be a beacon of hope for Chihuahuas in distress. Together, we can create a world where every chihuahua experiences the love, care, and respect they truly deserve.

Adoption Policy

Adoption process We know your time is precious (ours is too). We strive to make the adoption process safe, comfortable, and efficient. We work to get to a ‘yes!’ when it comes to adoptions so if we can’t find your best fit on the first try we will continue to work with you. 1. Submit adoption survey to let us know more about your family, lifestyle, and expectations. 2. We will reach out over email to schedule a call to have a conversation about the pet you are interested in. 3. A meet and greet will be scheduled so you can meet the pet. 4. Bring home your new pet when you are ready! Adoption fees Adoption fees are dependent on the pet. Each pet gets different vet work and training done depending on the condition they came to our rescue. 100% of adoption fees (and donations!) go right back to saving more animals as our organization is run by volunteers. Each pet will be fully up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, and microchipped before they go to their new home. We are willing to work with potential adopters in the case they are able to take these pets to vet appointments prior to an official adoption. After you adopt your new pet you will receive their vet paperwork and microchip information. Your pet’s microchip will be registered to you for you automatically.

This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development. David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners. Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature. David is based in Salem, MA.
