We are a licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As a rescue, we want to help bridge the gap between a homeless dog and his fur-ever home, give him a place to rest his head until his fur-ever is found. We want to help abandoned, abused, stray or relinquished animals.
We are a foster-based rescue, which means that while we want to help every animal in need, we are limited by the number of caring foster families available. Some of our goals are to encourage pet adoption, reunite lost pets with their owners, promote responsible pet ownership and help the community.
We are always in search of caring families and individuals who can provide safe haven for our rescued dogs on a temporary basis, as fosters, or for life as adopters.
Mission and Vision
TO HELP UNWANTED, ABANDONED, ABUSED, NEGLECTED, STRAY AND HOMELESS DOGS FIND SAFE AND LOVING FOREVER HOMES.
We will accomplish this by placing these dogs with families and individuals who will provide a safe and loving environment. We will encourage pet adoption, promote responsible pet ownership, encourage spay and neuter for all pets, provide education on the proper treatment and handling of dogs, work closely with and help the local community and be advocates of proper treatment and gentle training methods for all dogs. As an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non profit organization, 100% of our proceeds are spent for the benefit of the dogs we help.
Adoption Policy
The process to adopt our rescued dogs is as follows:
1. Complete an online adoption form (see bottom of this page).
2. We will review your application. We do contact your vet references to see how you have treated your pets in the past. In addition, if you do not own your home, we will make contact with your landlord.
3. We will contact you to advise you on the status of your application and to request clarification of your application, if necessary. We will most likely contact you via email, so please make sure your email client will accept mail from @savingdogsrescue.com. Also check your spam folder if you haven't heard from us within a few days.
4. Following the review and approval of your adoption application, we will schedule a home visit. The purpose of this visit is to ensure that the rescued dog will have a good environment and caring family to spend his/her life with.
5. Once the home visit is completed, we will set up a meet and greet with your family and the rescued dog. We suggest that this be done at a neutral location, such as a park or our shelter facility. You will be asked to bring family members with you as well as pets that you already have. You will have time and opportunity to make sure everybody gets along and your expectations with this dog can be met.
6. Upon satisfactory completion of the above steps, the dog will be offered for adoption. An appointment will be made for the adoption. During the appointment, necessary paperwork will be completed, you will pay the adoption fee and ownership will then be transferred to you.
After the adoption:
Please keep in mind that a major change has just taken place in your new family member's life. He/she does not know that he is now part of your family. He will need time to adjust to his new life and to become familiar with you and your family. Some dogs adjust quickly while others take
more time. Show lots of patience and always make the dog feel loved and wanted. Also know that
Saving Dogs 4 Paws at a Time is always available to you if you need help with integrating your adopted dog into his new life. Feel free to contact us any time you have questions, concerns or need help resolving any issues.

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
