Seattle Beagle Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Federal Tax ID #03-0377785, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of unwanted beagles, education of owners on responsible dog ownership, and education of the public on the beagle breed. We are a volunteer run organization that relies solely on tax deductible donations to help dogs from shelters that may be overcrowded and assist private homes that can no longer care for them, as well as dogs from other rescue organizations that may be overwhelmed with beagles needing new homes and laboratories releasing beagles from testing. We have partnered with high kill shelters, international rescue groups, domestic rescue groups and individuals to safely bring pups to the Pacific Northwest. We are able to provide various types of assistance for beagles in our rescue, such as foster homes, training or medical care until each beagle can be placed in an appropriate loving, permanent home. In some cases, we may be able to provide hospice care for beagles that may not be adoptable due to health issues, but still deserve the love and warmth of a home in their final days.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a traditional kennel facility. Our dogs are cared for by their foster families until we find a forever home for them. Therefore, our process to meet dogs and to adopt our rescue dogs may be different than an animal control facility, humane society or animal shelter.
Mission and Vision
Seattle Beagle Rescue’s mission is to rescue and rehome beagles and beagle mixes that may find themselves lost or abandoned, neglected or mistreated, or needing a new home, through care and compassion, shelter and adoption. We aspire to build a sense of a like-minded community through public education, events and volunteer opportunities where beagles are valued and treated with respect and kindness.
Seattle Beagle Rescue is a community of supporters and volunteers passionate about making a difference to the lives of beagles in need and keeping them out of harm’s way. Whatever the reason, we take the dogs in with dignity and respect... after all, It’s All About the Dogs.

Adoption Policy
Step 1 - Fill out an Adoption Application
Step 2 - Review of your application & Initial Conversation
An Adoption Counselor from the Seattle Beagle Rescue Adoptions Team will review your application and contact you to discuss your application to determine your best possible match for a new beagle family member. You will be contacted within a two to five day period. Please note we are all volunteers and try to make contact quickly, but life does happen, so please be patient.
Step 3 - Foster Communication
Once an initial best-fit beagle is found for you home, you will have a conversation with the beagle's foster. This conversation goes into further detail about the foster beagle and your home, life style and activity level. It gives both you and the foster the opportunity to determine if this is the right fitting beagle for your home and recommend moving forward with the adoption process or looking for a better-fitting beagle for your home.
Step 4 - Reference Checks
Your Adoption Counselor will verify your veterinarian as listed on your application to ensure that any current pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered (we will not place one of our dogs in a home where there is another intact animal). If you do not have a pet, please research local veterinarians.
Your Adoption Counselor will also contact the provided personal references. [Personal references should not be related to you in any manner, such as spouse/partner, son/daughter, aunt/uncle, etc., and/or they should not be a member of the same household, such as roommates.]
Step 5 - Home Visit
Once the initial conversations and reference checks are complete, the next step of the approval process is a home visit, both inside and outside. A volunteer comes to your home to determine if it is safe environment for a beagle. Seattle Beagle Rescue will attempt to find a volunteer to conduct the home visit. This could take a few days to a week. Please be patient with us. We are all volunteers. Once a volunteer is found, the home visit appointment will be scheduled by you and the volunteer. Please note that Covid precautions may still be in place.
Step 6 - Meet & Greet
The final step of the approval process is a meet and greet which will be scheduled between you and the foster. This meeting allows for all people in your household and any dogs living at your home to go meet the beagle. It is a chance to experience a bit of the beagle's personality, energy level and temperament. This is also a good time to see general dog interaction between the foster beagle and any resident dogs, in case personalities are not well suited to each other. This meeting also gives both you and the foster more information to again recommend moving forward with adoption or looking for a better-fitting beagle for your home.
Step 7 - Adopt
Once all steps have been completed and approved, you are ready to adopt one of our rescue beagles. You will review the contract and talk with your Adoption Counselor about any questions. You will then complete the contract and pay the adoption fee. Next is the best part...scheduling a time to take your new furry family member home!

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
