Has been designed of more of a safe training place for dogs who may be reactive. Ample space to run and play but also alot of obstacles etc for building confidence etc. Deer fenced apart from gate area which is around 1.5m high. If you have an escape artist you will need to keep an eye on them. You can drive right in and shut the gates behind you. Please note this space is also used by others so if you have a last minute booking with less than 2 hours notice we may be using it ourselves on arrival. Depending on whats happening at the time you may have to wait. All bookings with more than 2 hours notice are no problem at all and the space will be empty for you to use. Please do not go to the property with the houses on as you will set the dogs off. The parking instructions are very clear with a satellite image of where the yard is. It is the paddock on the opposite side to where the houses are. There is only parking for a maximum of 2 cars. In summer can get more in but in winter limited to 2 cars. You will need to carpool if booking as a group.

IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD Hi, we are called Pongarosa. We mainly run horse events on the weekends so are offering dog days from Monday to Friday. We have an automatic gate, that closes behind you and plenty of parking. The main paddock has short grass and obstacles in it which the dogs can have a play on. Bring a ball to throw as far as you like. If you like to walk, you can go around the farm. It has flat, rolling and steeper areas. Walk takes around 10 -15 minutes if walking. Longer if playing with your dog. I do have wetlands and they are tidal. Our drain can have water in them but I'm not advertising that I have water. I just want people to be aware. Please come and see me before you venture out so I can keep you informed about the property.

Can park in front of the farm gate or enter through the farm gate and park on the grass. Farm gate opens into the property. Please close the farm gate behind you and pick up any dog poo. There is a black rubbish bin to dispose of your dog poo. Hose and water tap to wash down your dogs is next to the black rubbish bin by the house. Please make sure the water tap is turned off once finished. Please do not go through any other closed farm gates on property due to livestock. Thank you. NOTE - During winter paddocks can get muddy. Update on the property. They have an extra gate now that just slides (looks like it would be electric but it's not powered at the moment) and you can park in the paddock on the gravel. It's a great place to run my dog reactive GSD. He doesn't care about the horses or pūkeko that are sometimes in sight (behind a double fence). Its especially nice this time of year when the brook has a little more water and the sun's not too hot.

Our new favourite spot, we have tried parks etc but our boy just gets too nervous with other dogs. This sniff spot is perfect for him with some exposure to other animals (horses) and he can just run free to his hearts content. We loved this place so much we came back twice in a week!! Unfortunate that others don’t respect the space and hadn’t cleaned up their dogs poop so I picked it up, there are plenty of bags and a bin provided by the host so no excuses really. Host was very quick to respond when we got a bit lost getting there but pretty easy to find. Absolutely love this spot and we will definitely be back!!

Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal. Contrary to public dog parks, all Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog for off leash exercise or outdoor training. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars, while public dog parks often do not even have verified reviews. How do I know if a dog field works for my dog?

All park rental information is available online. Start by filtering parks by fencing, size and distractions, to find a private spot that works for your dog. If your dog has poor recall, you can visit one of our secure fields. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog fields where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can review the details of the listing to make sure it works as your desired activity space, for example, safe dog exercise, dog training, a stress-free adventure with your furry friend or even a puppy event. You can even check the park amenities chart for amenities such as indoor training facilities, agility field, synthetic turf, exercise balls or field parking availability in advance. If inclement weather is an issue or poor field conditions, you can reschedule your visit up to 2 hours in advance.

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
