There is a barbed-wire fence marking the property line around the property, however it is not fully-fenced. 90 minute time slot. We have an open 70 acres surrounding a private pond with a trail thru the fields and woods around nature. The time allotment is 90 minutes only. We ask that our guests park by the barn and go straight to the lake then to the left around the lake. Trails are marked. It is about a 1 mile trail or more. trails are not plowed open in the winter but are perfect for snow shoeing, hiking an fat tire bikes in the snow on the trails or perfect spring to fall on the maintained trails.

Such a gorgeous, quiet property! My dog had the best time running around on the trails and in the grass! The trails are fantastic, well maintained, and there are tables tucked away in the trees that would make perfect picnic spots. Like others have noted, it is bug season and they were definitely out since it had just rained so be prepared. We’ll definitely be back once the weather cools off and there are fewer bugs. Highly recommend!

We visit Poppy's prairie 1-2x every week. It is such a gem near the cities and I feel so lucky to visit as often as I do. The mosquitoes are voracious in the spring. They get less bothersome later in the season as the small creek dries up. Make sure your dogs are on flea/tick prevention. The host generously provides bug spray. I supplement bug spray with permethrin treated clothes, a headnet if I'll be walking along the creek, and a pyrethrin or cedar oil spray for the dogs. The bugs can be overcome and it is well worth it!

It was perfect! Close enough to the cities to be convenient and far enough to feel like you were getting away. There were extra amenities to make the experience all the nicer such as flowers near the parking area, bug spray for humans and dogs, and a great sitting area where you park. The only issue we had was not booking more time!

I love this place. Second time being here but brought all my dogs this time. Enjoyed a very slow walk as I had my senior with me, but the other 2 got to run around like wild beasts, they all enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Woods, ravines, hills - it is all there.
