55This is a literal dream yard for dog owners - if you ever happen to sell your house, let me know! Wide open, 6ft fence all around, spacious and free of debris. There are a couple multi level decks to sit on. My dogs had an absolute BLAST running around and were already tired within 15min so I really had to stretch the hour out. I will absolutely be back to this spot again!! The only "issue" was that there was a lot of previous puppy piles left behind. I did see that in other's reviews so I had my dogs shoes on and I just watched where I walked in the yard. I picked up after my own dogs and I wish others would pay that same respect to this great spot. There was 1 ball in the yard that I found and I wish I had remembered to bring my own toys and water bottles - but also my dogs were so distracted by this being a new place, they weren't interested in fetch. One thing I would also warn for those that have reactive dogs like I do - the fence does have a 2-3 inch gaps in between each slat so they can see through the fence and the neighbors had dogs outside. By no means can these gaps be escaped through but if your dogs are easily triggered by seeing other animals, just keep this in mind.Tara P.

FAQ about our Crystal Lake dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Crystal Lake area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 390 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 51 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
