Fence is dear fenced throughout the property. so big dog friendly! Bring your own toys!! Sometimes there are horses in the property behind us. The only areas that are off limits are the house and decks and patios attached to the house and the fenced off garden on the property. Please pick up after your dogo’s! There is a garbage can to the right of the gate, as you walk in. Enjoy Artemis’ domain!!

Surrounded by tranquil, non-busy farmland, this is the perfect off-leash spot for pups who love to explore, sniff, and play in peace. This natural, open space is ideal for energetic dogs to burn off some steam, or for more timid pups who need a calm, private environment to enjoy the outdoors. The property offers a variety of terrain — both short and long grass to explore. We've recently enlarged the short grass area to give your pups even more room to roam and play comfortably. She passed away in February suddenly and our yard is missing that lovely dog energy! If you are looking for a private fenced yard for dogs on Vancouver Island, you have the perfect place! The yard is green in the spring, summer & fall. It's rainy and grey in the winter but still a charming outdoor spot for dog exercise, play and relaxation. Indoor bookings are currently not available. The area available is not fenced and is 3.5 acres, situated entirely off the road. The main play space is an heirloom apple orchard with 25+ beautiful old gnarled trees in an unmowed meadow. My own reactive dog loves to spring through the tussocks and uses the trees like an obstacle course. Beyond the meadow is 3.5 acres of hawthorn scrub that’s great for dogs, but not easily human-penetrable. Perfect for letting adventurous dogs have a solo romp if they have good recall. I hope you and your pup(s) enjoy it!!

With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal. You can review the details of the listing to make sure it works as your desired activity space, for example, safe dog exercise, dog training, a stress-free adventure with your furry friend or even a puppy event. You can even check the park amenities chart for amenities such as indoor training facilities, agility field, synthetic turf, exercise balls or field parking availability in advance. If inclement weather is an issue or poor field conditions, you can reschedule your visit up to 2 hours in advance.

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
