55Margaret’s property was wonderful. My dog is often overwhelmed on walks in the city so it was really fun to watch her explore the area in a such a trigger free environment. Margaret left us some walking suggestions upon arrival and snacks for both humans and dogs. We will definitely be back to explore the rest of the property. Jen K.

55Another fabulous trip to our favorite sniffspot! The host was kind enough to let me know about a new trail that they'd cut and we were able to find it and enjoy a new wooded loop! We'll take more of that trail next time since we know where the trail head is now! tena p.

55Gorgeous property, great communication/directions to get to the spot, and they even left out maps, snacks, and water for us!
The owner is really lovely as well. I temporarily lost my dog in the woods (😭) and she and her sons sprang into action to help me look for her. They were so kind and helpful and I can’t say enough good things about them.
That being said, make sure your dog is either checking in with you every few minutes or you have a tracking collar if your dog is even a potential flight risk. It’s such a novel environment with lots to smell, and the woods are very dense.
We will definitely be back once I buy mine a tracking collar lol. The stream was lovely and completely clear. Savannah S.

55Great spot! The picnic table with snacks and bug spray was a solid touch. We played in the field for a bit and then explored the trails, played in the leaf piles and got muddy. So so quiet. Our anxious dog didn’t have a single worry while there. Will be back for sure! Sandy T.

55We had another fabulous adventure at Margaret's sniffspot! The dogs all had a blast racing around as always. It was the dryest i've seen it in a long time and they missed out on some of their normal watering holes in the fields to cool off in, but they had a blast as always!tena p.

55Wow! Wow! Wow! My dogs and I travel all over the country for work, and we stop at a lot of Sniffspots. And this is one of the best ones I’ve ever been to!
The property is extremely well-maintained, and extremely well thought out as far as providing maps, directions, instructions.
I only rented the space for an hour, but easily could’ve spent twice that. The dogs had a blast! And I’m hoping to come back before my travels take me out of the area.
Thank you so much! Tara B.

55Great site for our first SniffSpot outing! Margaret's space is clearly marked and has plenty to offer: from a creekside trail to open fields cut with walking paths and plenty of seating along to way to rest and/ or take in the views, to wooded trails there was so much to explore! We inadvertently failed to read the instructions (new to the app!) and ended up at Margaret's property. She was only gracious and helpful, despite us rocking up to her personal homestead. 🤦♀️ When we reached the right spot - which was VERY clearly marked, we just hadn't read the instructions - we were greeted by a picnic table with a cooler with cold water and snacks for dogs AND humans! Also provided: bug spray and a giant bowl of fresh water for our pup. Slid into the front pocket of the cooler was a map, which we decided to leave behind and just explore. We love the ease of the app, and we'll definitely be back to explore more!Kristin T.

55We'll be back! Even with a two hour booking, we didn't have enough time to explore all the great trails here. We tried a little bit of everything: dipped our paws in the creek, frolicked in the meadow, stalked some deer in the woods. The pups were very happy! There were a lot of busy bees in the field, which was great to see (lots of wildflowers despite our brutal summer this year!). The trail was very clean - we did see some scat that looked like it belonged to a fox! We didn't see any farm animals on our visit but did try to keep our distance from the area around the house. A few notes for other visitors: There is a helpful map provided but we still managed to get a little lost since not all the trails are super clearly marked - we wandered back into our main course before too long, and it was my own fault for not paying closer attention to which turns we took, but something to be aware of. I was a little nervous driving a Prius on the gravel road leading to the parking, but we made it without issue (might have to avoid this spot in trickier weather conditions though, at least in this car). No dog/people anywhere to be seen or heard, however we could occasionally hear a louder truck engine in the distance; we also heard what I think may have been a single gunshot at some point that the dogs noticed far off (or maybe an early firework for the holiday?). My dogs are both very sound sensitive, and yet recovered quickly from these rare interruptions to what was otherwise a serene walk! I had one dog on a long line, which was a bit tricky down by the stream area / pink trail but on the whole easy to manage, the trails are generally well cleared. There is no trashcan so just remember to plan to pack out any baggies. Talia P.

55We had another perfect visit to this sniff spot! I could not be happier to have had such a gorgeous late October day! There were a few new trails cut into the field since I was here last and i'm excited to check them out next time!
There was a MASSIVE flock of birds in the trees behind the fields that were so loud, it was pretty cool to experience that. Thousands and thousands of birds in the trees for like 100yds+. tena p.

55This spot is absolutely beautiful! So much room to roam! My dog , Dakoda, had the best day ever , playing in the creek and running through the leaves and woods. The picnic table and chairs throughout the property are a nice touch. Host also had a map of the property showing the trails. And snacks and water for my pup. This is a perfect spot for exercise and exploring for both you and your pup! Lynn A.

FAQ about our Stahlstown dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Stahlstown area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 170 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 11 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
