ARCC was founded in January 2015 by a group of concerned and determined citizens. This caring group of people came together from Lorenzo, Ralls, and Crosbyton with various backgrounds, personalities, and views, but all with the same common goal; to make a difference in the lives of the high number of discarded, neglected, and unwanted pets in Crosby County.
We are an all-volunteer nonprofit that gives their time, talents, and money to promote our mission. We received our nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in April 2015.
In early May 2015, we received a generous donation of land from friends of the rescue, Jim and Mary Parkhill. We hold fundraisers and accept donations to build structures and kennels for our site, and install fencing.
We house several dogs/puppies at our location, we have implemented an effective short-term foster home program where our dogs are housed and cared for by foster caregivers in a home setting until they are either adopted or can enter our facility.
Mission and Vision
Our passion is for all animals in need!
Animal Rescue of Crosby County (ARCC) is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue that primarily rescues dogs. Occasionally, we rescue cats, and horses within the Crosby County area. We are here to safely keep abandoned dogs off the roads while giving them a fighting chance to get adopted into loving homes.
Our mission is to support the Crosby County community in promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, as well as providing assistance for basic animal care, education, and a pet pantry to benefit the residents of the county.
Adoption Policy
Adoption Process
Our application process helps us determine which animal will best suit your lifestyle, wants, and needs. We consider all apsects when placing our rescues, including an animal’s temperament, activity level, and the animal’s socialization with other animals and people. We will work with you to make sure the dog or cat you choose is the best fit for you and your home.
When you are ready to adopt a new friend, we'll ask you to complete our screening process, which ensures safe and successful adoptions.
1. Fill out an application for the pet you are interested in at our Petstablished.com website.
2. We'll have a brief conversation with you to determine your needs and preferences, find out about your daily schedule, and talk about your previous experience with pets.
3. If applicable, we'll call your veterinarian to ensure that previous pets have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and well cared for.
4. For renters, we'll check with your landlord to ensure that dogs are permitted and that the dog that you're adopting wouldn't violate any size or breed restrictions.
5. In addition, if you plan to adopt a dog and already have a canine family member, we recommend setting up a meet and greet to see if the dogs are going to get along.
6. Lastly, we'll visit your home to see the environment where the dog will live and answer your questions. This is a great opportunity for you to get valuable input on how to integrate your new pet into your home.
This process typically takes less than a week and then you are ready to take your new family member home!

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
