Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and ensures that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants. Our initial goal when we began in 2009 was to save 30 huskies from area shelters. We have rescued over 2,500 and counting.

North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue

SAVING AUSSIES IN THE DFW & SURROUNDING AREAS Two young women were helping out with two separate rescues when they crossed paths trying to help a dog for one another. They quickly became close friends. After they agreed that they each had a conflict of interest with the rescue they were helping they decided to work together to start their very own rescue and that was the day NTASR was born. While the president has amazing experience in the breed, the vice president has great experience in animal welfare administration so together they made the perfect pair. NTASR helps Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, and mixes of the two. They are open to working with other working or herding dogs as well depending on the circumstances. Don't think for a second these two women won't jump to help a dog in emergent need. Thus far, several other breeds have made their way through the rescue because of their kind and caring hearts including a doodle, a dachshund, a frenchie, and a shar pei. NTASR takes behavioral and medical dogs and gets them the appropriate rehab to be able to find them the perfect forever home. Aussies are such special breeds and deserve very particular and experienced homes.

Dallas Street Dog Advocates (DSDA) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was formed by volunteers who care about the loose and stray street dog problem in Dallas. What we have learned from our experience in rescuing dogs off the street is that many of them are highly adoptable. They yearn to love and be loved and deserve to be healthy, happy and have a home of their own. We have also learned that the people that live in the areas, where the stray dog problems are the worst, want our help. They are instrumental in helping us catch the strays by establishing feeding schedules and routines. They also tell us about the dog's history. Some are left when their owners move out. Some are tossed from moving cars. Some are born on the street to dogs that have been abandoned. The list goes on and on. If you can think of it, it has happened. The people have watched these dogs die of starvation, dehydration and heat stroke. They have watched them suffer after being hit by a car and left lying on the street. The dogs and the people living in these conditions need our help. These dogs are typically socialized and do very well once they are rescued off the streets and given time to decompress. Dallas Street Dog Advocates goal is to rescue as many adoptable dogs off the streets as we can find foster homes for and have the funds to care for. After they are healthy and have lived in a foster home, then we find them forever homes. We see ourselves as a "bridge" between the homeless street dogs and their forever families. We also want to serve the people who live amongst this problem by offering them dog food, flea and tick prevention, education on caring for their dogs and connecting them with available resources to have their dog spayed or neutered. Together with the help of our volunteers and supporters, coupled with our passion and love for dogs, we will make a difference in Dallas one dog, one home, and one community at a time.

The Pawerful Rescue was established in 2019 as a 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue, but our founder, Stephanie, had already been rescuing strays for years. We all have a friend like that‚ don't we? No matter where she went, Stephanie would find an animal in need. It wasn't until Stephanie moved to South Los Angeles, though, that she experienced an overwhelming number of animals in need. From that point, The Pawerful Rescue grew organically. What was once just a person picking up strays and trying to reunite, vet, or rehome these little souls, morphed into an organization that is made up of like-minded individuals making a difference. Duke Hemstreet joined the rescue in 2020 and has been an instrumental part in the rescue flourishing. Our rescue has expanded into Texas, where we dream of building a sanctuary for those fur babies that need a place to call home. Our goal has always been to find the perfect home for our rescues, but if that perfect home never comes, they get to live out their days with us! We Rescue the Ones That Need the Most Rescuing! Every rescue is different. Some are breed specific or even age specific. We've rescued everyone from a five-pound miniature Poodle, to a 100-pound paralyzed Great Dane. We gravitate toward animals with extreme medical, behavioral, and other special needs as well as senior dogs. They aren't the easiest cases, but certainly the most fulfilling to watch transform. As The Pawerful Rescue continues to grow, we look forward to sharing every part of the journey with you.

As the Lone Star Dog Ranch began to develop a following on social media, Renee Eden was contacted by multiple rescue groups asking for her help and expertise in rescuing dogs on death row, discarded breeder dogs, and dogs in shelters. She found that she had the facility (the Lone Star Dog Ranch), the expertise, the passion and energy to devote time to dogs in need. In 2014 Dog Ranch Rescue, Inc. was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Dog Ranch Rescue is a separate non-profit business from the Lone Star Dog Ranch boarding facility. The rescue has it's own building and property adjacent to the Lone Star Dog Ranch property in Anna, TX. The rescue was formed to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need from various sources, such as puppy mills, local shelters and strays. The rescue provides medical help for each dog, houses them, rehabilitates, socializes and trains them. The rescue accepts donations from the public that help cover all aspects of the cost associated with this process. When the dogs are restored to good health, spayed, neutered and have all of their needs met physically and socially we take the necessary steps to rehome them. Each home that a dog is placed in goes through a rigorous application and review process to ensure a positive outcome. If the placement of the dog is not a good fit the dog is accepted back into the rescue and the process begins again. Since our inception in 2014 over 2,000 dogs have come through the door of Dog Ranch Rescue and gone on to enjoy a very happily ever after.

We want to tell about our small but growing animal volunteer animal rescue, foster, rehab and adoption organization. Our mission started several years ago. We try to save those animals who have no hope or a tomorrow ahead of them. We take in animals and foster and care for them. Most of our animals find loving and permanent homes through our diligent screening process. Because of the tremendous need, we are growing our organization and naming it in honor of our puppy who crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge at a very young age. We hope and believe that with your help we can touch many more lives and do more than we have already done.

We are a network of volunteer foster homes, which means all dogs adopted through us come from loving, caring homes straight to you. Since we don't use a holding facility, our dogs come to their new homes calm, relaxed, and ready for a new life, rather than being nervous and traumatized from the noise and chaos of a shelter. We evaluate, rescue, and rehabilitate abandoned Border Collies, as well as other herding breeds, and find homes that will love and cherish them forever. All of our dogs have been fully vetted to include all vaccinations, heartworm test (and treatment, if necessary), spay/neuter, and a microchip with Border Collie Rescue & Rescue contact information. Upon adoption, you will be provided with physical proof of all treatments and veterinary reports, along with a rabies tag and chip information. We will never withhold any animal information and are happy to disclose exactly where we got our dogs from and when. Our dogs have been temperament tested and reside in foster homes with active and diverse families just like yours! Our dogs are crate trained and housebroken and have received basic obedience training using only positive reinforcement techniques such as leading, shaping, R+, and counter-conditioning. We believe a rescued dog brings experiences with them when rescued, and with our loving rehabilitation, they become perfect life partners. Their backgrounds may vary from breeders to farm dogs to strays but all of them deserve the unconditional love they will be glad to give their new families. We bring them into our homes and rehabilitate them by providing love, structure, and routine. We mend wounds and clean them up both emotionally and physically. We know you have many choices of rescues to choose from. However, we believe once you get to know us, you will find our rescue family to be the perfect match for you and your family. Border Collie Rescue & Rehab is a 501(c)(3) registered rescue.

Canine Soulmates Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit dog rescue and advocacy organization. Our volunteers are committed to a common interest of helping save lives and finding abandoned, abused, neglected, and lost dogs the right “forever home” for their specific needs. Canine Soulmates is an all-breed dog rescue volunteer group based in the Grapevine-Keller-Southlake, Texas, area. We focus on stray and shelter dogs who have no home. We also attempt to help people trying to re-home their dogs and if possible direct them to helpful resources. If we have an open foster home, sometimes we can take their dogs into our program. We have volunteers throughout the DFW metroplex who love dogs and want to help those who end up homeless through no fault of their own. The dogs in our program receive whatever veterinary care they need — vaccinations, spay/neuter, dentals, deworming, orthopedic surgeries, etc. — and are fostered in private homes while we look for their forever families. We do not have a shelter facility. For each of our fostered dogs, we carefully select a family living in the DFW Metroplex area who will be committed to care for the dog for its lifetime. We primarily adopt in the local DFW area where we are able to integrate home checks into our adoption process. We also feel it necessary to stay in an area that will allow us to quickly facilitate the needs of the dog, potential adopter, and in rare cases and adoption that doesn't work out. As a non-profit we support our organization through adoption fees and donations. Canine Soulmates Rescue is a federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, which means that donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. We always need fosters and volunteers! We can take in only as many dogs as we have dedicated foster homes. Our rescue pays for each foster dog’s medical expenses. Foster families provide socialization, love, and some basic training while the search is made for a “forever family.” Our adoption events are normally held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Please check our events calendar, Facebook and Instagram accounts for locations and times.

North Texas Basset Hound Rescue, Inc.
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #12 in Dallas
North Texas Basset Hound Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to the welfare of basset hounds. We were founded in 1984 and later formed as a committee under The Basset Hound Club of Greater Fort Worth. In 1997, NTBHR was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the State of Texas. In June of 1998, NTBHR was classified as a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization by the IRS, meaning your gifts to us are tax-deductible. Our Tax ID # is 75-2706935 North Texas Basset Hound Rescue is organized for the following purposes: 1. Prevent cruelty to animals, specifically Basset Hounds; 2. Support animal welfare by locating and retrieving homeless, unwanted and/or mistreated Basset Hounds; 3. Provide necessary funding for medical care, spaying and neutering, for unwanted and/or mistreated Basset Hounds; and 4. Place homeless, unwanted, and or mistreated Basset Hounds into permanent, loving homes. The general area of rescue is the Fort Worth and Dallas area, but we also cover many shelters in North Texas from Abilene to Waco, Longview to the Oklahoma border. Money is spent to insure that the bassets are healthy, neutered or spayed, and treatment for heartworms. On occasion we must make the tough decision of euthanasia due to health problems or aggressive behavior. Rescue volunteers receive no compensation for their countless hours and transportation costs. NTBHR is very fortunate to have several veterinarians who provide excellent treatment at a reduced rate. The rewards of a rescue volunteer come from knowing that a basset is getting a second chance and from a slobbery lick and a wagging tail. North Texas Basset Hound Rescue (NTBHR), an all-volunteer organization, rescued and re-homed 95 Basset Hounds in fiscal year 2014-15. All animals are given medical care including spay/neuter, heartworm treatment, dental care and micro-chipping. Providing information on spay/neuter programs, micro-chipping, and participating in responsible pet ownership events lets us achieve our goals of rescuing Basset Hounds and serving the community. Our goals for the current year are to increase our volunteer base, our foster care program, allowing us to rescue more Basset Hounds and to increase our fundraising to cover our increasing veterinary costs.

Dallas Animal Welfare Group, or The DAWG Project, was founded in 2016 by a group of friends in response to the loose and stray dog crisis in southern Dallas. A generations-old problem, the issue was brought into sharp relief by the death of Antoinette Brown, a homeless US Army veteran who was mauled to death by six loose dogs after walking into a vacant lot in May of that year. A subsequent census estimated 7,000 - 9,000 loose or stray dogs in southern Dallas. The count on the same day in North Dallas? One. The city of Dallas began sweeps to pick up loose dogs for their safety and for the safety of the citizens of southern Dallas. As the shelter began to fill, dogs were euthanized for space. This is a hard reality in municipal shelters. DAWG was founded to provide a positive outcome for Dallas shelter dogs and to fill the gaps in animal rescue to move the city of Dallas toward becoming a no-kill community.

Dauntless Rescue Inc is a non-profit 501(c)3, DBA The Street Dog Project that focuses primarily on rescuing dogs directly from the streets of Dallas, TX. The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs. The project began when vulnerable, homeless pets in the Dallas area, truly needed us the most. Our goal is to reduce the street dog population through rescue, placement and outreach. Since 2016 we've rescued hundreds of dogs from the streets and found them loving homes. We rely on our team members, neighborhood communities and our social media community for support to help us continue to bring awareness to the stray, abused, neglected, and homeless dogs in the Dallas area. Our rescues start with rescuing an elusive dog from the streets. Sometimes Samaritans notify us about dogs that need to be rescued, and sometimes we find these dogs on our own. In most cases, they are hurt, malnourished, scared, or in danger of being hit by oncoming traffic. These search and rescue mission can take days, weeks, or even months but our team never gives up on a mission or a dog. Upon rescue, dogs are taken straight to the vet, so they can be scanned for a microchip and a vet can attend to any emergency medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have medical needs that go beyond the norm. Heart-worm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter. Dallas has thousands of street dogs and our goal is to save as many as possible. We hope to raise awareness for the street dogs who just need a chance.

Lighthouse Dog Rescue is working to reduce the huge number of stray and abandoned dogs due to non-existent laws on spay and neutering dogs, lax enforcement of anti-cruelty laws and puppy mills run by unethical and irresponsible backyard breeders. With your help, we can change the lives of stray, abused and abandoned dogs across Tarrant County, Texas. As owners of Pixees Paws Pet Palace daycare and boarding, and rescuing dozens of dogs personally, Gayla and Cecilia have built a huge network of dog lovers who are willing to foster dogs, volunteer their time and talent to rescue a large number of at-risk dogs at the lowest cost possible. That’s why they’ve created a non-profit organization in order to scale up their impact and increase the number of dogs they can save. They also use their huge community to educate families on the importance of rescuing dogs, rather than buying them from backyard breeders or puppy mills.

Once your application is received, we will conduct a thorough screening process which includes a vet check of your current pets and a phone screen/interview by one of our adoption coordinators. If you rent a house or live in an apartment, we will verify huskies are accepted with the landlord/management company. Security deposits are the responsibility of the adopter. After your vet check and screenings are completed successfully, TXHR will conduct a fence/home check. This is a check for gaps, broken slats, holes, compromised spots, etc where a husky could escape. As a result of COVID-19 safety precautions, photo documentation is acceptable. Upon successful completion of the application process, a TXHR adoption counselor will set up a meet and greet with you and your matched husky. Once you determine you would like to adopt the husky, you must sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee before taking possession of the husky. All adoptions start with a 5 day trial period to ensure the husky is a good fit in your home and lifestyle.
