Mission and Vision
FurEver Animal Rescue is dedicated to providing a loving and nurturing environment for each furry friend taken into our rescue foster care. Our friends are not housed in a shelter setting. The hectic activities and loud environment of the shelter often cause our friends to withdraw, be fearful, show aggression or become easily excited. These behaviors are stress-related and often make our friends appear un-adoptable. Patience, love and becoming a cherished part of a family prepares them for their new life. They are in private loving foster homes where they can receive more individualized care and be part of a family unit. Our hope is for a smoother transition coming from a home environment to their new home.
Our friends come to us from various shelters, owner surrenders, local hospitals or are dropped at our doorstep. We treat each of our furry friends with respect and dignity. We are devoted to evaluating each as an individual and designing a care plan to meet their physical, behavioral and medical needs. As a medical rescue, we provide compassionate, state of the art medical care to the sick, injured, medically fragile and abused as well as routine spaying/neutering, vaccinations and testing. Most of our medical care is done at the Animal Care Clinic in El Sobrante, CA.
Education is a key component to improving the lives of our furry friends and ensuring that they get a loving FurEver home. We are committed to providing our community with useful information about maintenance health care, behavioral/socializing training, nutrition, kitten/puppy care and care of our senior pets, just to name a few. We hope to reach our community through our website, handouts, videos, adoption events and outreach programs.
Our staff and Board of Directors are strictly volunteers. We all do this because we love our furry friends, as we hope you do, too! No one receives a salary or is compensated for their service. All monies donated are used for the sole purpose of running the rescue to provide quality care to our rescued animals and find them their FurEver new home. Donations can be made through PayPal, checks or at any of our adoption events.
FurEver Animal Rescue has a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit status. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. A receipt for your contributions will be sent to you. Thank you for your kind support and love for all animals who deserve a happy life.
FurEver Animal Rescue is located in San Pablo, CA and serves the East Bay/San Francisco Bay Area.
Adoption Policy
We deeply care for all our furry friends and finding just the right FurEver home for them is of the utmost importance to us. While our adoption process is simple, it is also comprehensive. Please take note of the following so that you are prepared:
• Adoption Questionnaire - we need to better understand your personal and home situation for our furry friends (including other pets in the household, work schedule, housing setup, etc....) to ensure it will be a good match. As well, we want to be sure you clearly understand your responsibilities and commitment to the proper care of your pet. This form can be completed in advance of the actual adoption to expedite the process. Just print out this Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and bring it with you to our adoption events. We will review and approve if everything is in good order.
• When you find your perfect furmate, there is an Adoption Agreement which includes you agreeing to bring your new furry friend to the Animal Care Clinic to finish any vaccinations or spaying/neutering (if necessary), how your new companion will be treated, providing FurEver Animal Rescue with the first option of taking back your pet if you can no longer care for it, etc. There is one Adoption Agreement for each pet you adopt from FurEver Animal Rescue and will be executed at time of adoption.
• If you live in a rental, we will need a copy of your rental agreement or a letter on letterhead from your landlord indicating that pets are allowed in your home as well as any restrictions such as size, weight or breed. Bringing this to an adoption event will also expedite the adoption process.
• At an adoption event, you have the option of making your adoption donation via cash, check or credit card. Your adoption donation is 100% tax deductible.
• Foster to Adopt - should you like to try out having a new furry friend as a part of your home before taking the final step to adopt, we will have you fill out a Foster to Adopt form. This agreement allows you to keep your cat or dog for up to 4 days. During this time, your furry friend is still owned by FurEver Animal Rescue. If you choose to adopt, it is simply an additional signature on the form and your adoption donation to complete the process.
• Should you decide to foster a pet to assist our continuing efforts to find them a FurEver home, there is a Foster Home Contract with fostering guidelines in which you agree to make this pet a part of your family and to take appropriate measures to ensure its safety along with quality care of it while it is in your charge. As well, you agree to bring the pet to any adoption events so that they can find their FurEver home. The pets are owned by FurEver Animal Rescue.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and look forward to helping you find just the perfect furry friend. In the end, it's all about helping our furry friends - their lifelong happiness and well-being! If you have any questions, please feel free to email fureveranimalrescue@yahoo.com.

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
