"I’ve been truly impressed by Furry Friends Rescue. My initial introduction was when our family was looking for a dog during Covid. We ended up fostering a few dogs along the way and finally adopted one. FFR’s screening process is thorough and meant to match the perfect family and pet. The organization from management to volunteers has only the best interest at heart for every animal. The support you receive is amazing! I can’t say enough good about FFR which is why I’ve stayed in contact and help when I can."

"Doggie Protective Services helped my husband and I rescue Truvy, a Taiwanese Mountain puppy, 12 years ago.at age 6 months old. She was the only one of her litter that hadn't been adopted, because she was terrified of people. DPS had her in a nurturing foster home and told us that they would keep her as long as necessary for her to find her forever home. Luckily, we decided to take a chance with her, and with patience and training, now Truvy is a healthy, happy, 12 year old who loves running on the beach even at age 12, and, although still shy, is friends with anyone with treats. We have since followed the DPS Facebook page, and have even visited a few of their rescue events. We continue to be big fans, and will certainly rescue with them again when it is time for us to find a new pet. Their work to assist dogs with trauma and medical issues is heroic, and their volunteers are amazing. Furry Friends is a similarly excellent rescue that found us Murphy, the best cat ever. They did a home check and thorough vetting of us before we were allowed to adopt Murphy, and we were able to speak with his Foster mother to determine his temperament. Another great rescue that we will continue to support."

"A fabulous organization that really cares for the animals. Many of the animals they take in need medical care and training to be adoptable. The amazing volunteers and volunteer foster homes really see to the well being of the animals, and any unadoptable animal continues to be cared for as a Sanctuary Dog or Cat. I've adopted twice from this organization, volunteered at Showcases, donated and continue to support their mission."

"Furry Friends Rescue gifted me with the love of my life! Sophie came to me after experiencing love and care while fostered. FFR and it’s wonderful volunteer angels rescue animals most in need and rigorously ensures these beautiful pets find safe and loving forever homes. My most favorite organization!"

"Furry Friends Rescue is an organization of animal-loving volunteers who are dedicated to saving dogs & cats and committed to placing pets in homes where they will be most successful. Adopting rules are rather strict, but it makes sure that homes are best prepared for forever placement for pets."

"Furry Friends Rescue is where I’ve volunteered as a foster dog mom and as transporter for several years. The volunteers and staff are fun, caring, and kind. The dogs are amazing. I’ve seen huge changes in fostered dogs from scared and dirty to loved and adorable. One is my own foster-fail dog, Bella, a Maltipoo. She’s a wonderful addition to our family. Fostering made me happy during the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic and makes me laugh every day."

"I’ve been a foster with Furry Friends Rescue for a while now and have long term and short term fostered over 30 dogs. FFR has been BY FAR the most ethical rescue I’ve worked with. Furry Friends Rescue cares more about just getting dogs adopted. It’s about adopting them to homes that will provide love, quality food and care, exercise, training, etc. Forever homes go through a series of applications, interviews, home inspections, and in person meet prior to adopting the dog to ensure our dogs end up in wonderful homes. FFR follows up to date scientific studies on dogs health and behavior and makes sure our contracts and care of those dogs follows science. Dogs are fed high quality diets, delayed spay & neuters to ensure their bodies and minds get the necessary hormones to develop properly, and receive reward based training and socialization. FFR relies on foster homes. Dogs do not get rescued from a shelter only to sit in another kennel. Our dogs get acquainted with home life in their foster homes, to prepare them for an easier transition into their forever homes. Foster homes really get to know their dogs and provide frequent updates on their dogs health and behavior. Those updates are put on the description of dogs on our website so potential adopters understand more about each dogs unique personality. FFR also makes sure adopters sign our contract so that we are able to intervene if one of our dogs is not receiving care that is up to our standards. Once a FFR dog, always a FFR dog! We provide lifelong support for every dog."

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
