Heer to Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 Dog Rescue based out of Lake Elsinore, California. We operate solely on donations made by the public We are very passionate about helping animals in need. Abandoned, unwanted and unloved animals should not be euthanized in our shelters! We work very hard to ensure that every animal that we help receives proper medical attention, vaccinations, microchips and that they are spayed or neutered. We also introduce the dogs to the structure, boundaries and consistency they need in order to set them up for success. Please help support our mission by donating, liking and sharing our website and facebook posts. We do not discriminate against the age, breed, or medical status of a dog that needs help. Every pet deserves a home where they can receive the proper medical care, training, structure, love and care that they deserve. Our goal is to place each pet with a family that is perfect for them. We are a small team of volunteers and we like the idea of quality over quantity. We dedicate loads of time, energy and soul, into every animal that we help, and we feel that in order to provide the best care to each pet we help, its important not to over stretch our limits or funding. Our intakes are chosen based on a multitude of circumstances so that we can ensure we can provide the care each pet deserves. Because we are a small rescue, your support is even more appreciated. It is also our goal to help educate the public as well as our adopters on dog behavior, proper methods of training and leadership, as well as the importance of spay, neuter and microchipping your pets. We want to help reduce euthanasia and keep dogs with their families when possible.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to save as many dogs in need as we can without compromising the quality of care we provide for them. Each dog has a unique personality, behavioral and medical needs, and we recognize that our help should be tailored to those specific needs. Our goal is to help reduce the population of homeless animals by spaying, neutering and microchipping all of the pets that come through our program. We also aim to reduce the risk of euthanasia through educating the community on dog behavior and training and providing life saving medical care.
Adoption Policy
The first step to adoption is to SUBMIT AN APPLICATION. Once we receive your application, we will reach out to you for an interview. Our goal is to place each dog with the perfect match, so please READ THE PERSONAL BIO for the dog you apply for prior to submitting an application. If your application is approved, we will set up a date for you to meet your potential new family member. Your patience is appreciated when waiting for a call back about your application.
The Adoption Donation for Puppies (Dogs under 1 year of age) is $500.00. Adult dogs (1 year or older) require a donation of $400.00. Purebreed dogs require a donation that varies based on medical treatment provided. If there is a dog you are interested in that this applies to, we will discuss that during your interview. Adoptable/Available dogs are current vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and are deemed healthy by our vet. We also require a $200.00 refundable deposit for any dog that has not yet been altered to ensure that the dog is altered by the due date on your adoption contract. (It is very important to us that we help curb the population, and we are also required by law to verify that every dog we help is altered and cannot reproduce) Your donations help cover the many costs associated with rescuing a dog, which include but are not limited to healthy food, vaccinations, microchips, veterinary bills, cleaning supplies and disinfectant, beds, crates, flea and tick treatment, toys, transportation to and from the vet, as well as potty pads, bowls, leashes, collars and anything else a dog in our care might need. Donations made to Heer to Rescue, Inc. are tax deductible, what a great way to give!
All donations (Including adoption donations) go directly back into the general fund to continue to provide care for the dogs in our program. We are 100% volunteer run, so that means we have no employees, and all funding goes directly to the dogs! Just the way we like it! We know that your hard earned money is donated to help a dog in need, so that's exactly where it goes! We couldn't continue to help without your generous support!
** Our costs to rescue dogs including supplies and vet care services have been increased dramatically in the last month, so please be aware that we are doing our best to provide this care and all of the supplies they need while still keeping our adoption donations reasonable. On average it costs us about $650 to rescue a dog and this does not include any major surgeries or specialty vet care a dog might receive.
**Please Note: We are a very small team, so thank you in advance for your patience while we get through applications and emails**

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
