Adoption Policy
We’re so excited to accompany you on this magical journey to find your furever family member!
First things first, make sure to thoroughly fill out the adoption application. Help us, help you! Be as detailed as possible in your application. This helps us get to know you, your personality, lifestyle, and wants with your potential new furbaby.
Once you've submitted your application, please allow at least 48 hours for our team to review it. If your application is approved, and we think you’re a good match, one of our dedicated team members will follow-up with you to coordinate a phone interview. If our team agrees you’re a good match, we’ll arrange a meet and greet with the dog you’re applying for and their foster. If all goes well during meet and greet and you would like to move forward, the final step required is a home check.
Things to Know
You must be 21 years old to foster or adopt. If you’re under the age of 21 you, you must have a parent or guardian provide approval and co-sign your foster/adoption agreement.
Homes that will have the dog alone for 8+ hours will not qualify unless additional arrangements are made.
All fields in the adoption application must be filled out completely or your application may be denied otherwise. And, you must send it the required pictures and/or videos of your home, or allow an in-person home visit.
The Adoption Donation Fee is due at the time of the adoption and is non-refundable.
If a trial adoption is granted, half of your adoption donation fee is refundable if the trial adoption doesn’t work out. After the trial adoption, if you decided it’s not working out, the adoption donation fee in non-refundable.
Every dog in the care of Mutt Luv Rescue is spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and current on DHPP and Rabies Vaccines. Please contact us if you have additional questions.
.Adoption Donation Fees
Your Adoption Donation is 100% tax-deductible. Your employer may also match your donation if you provide them with your adoption agreement receipt. We greatly appreciate your efforts in checking with your employer. If they do offer donation matching and you would like to submit Mutt Luv Rescue, please let us know so we can provide you with the needed materials.
Adoption donation fees range from $450 to $700 and can vary depending on various factors required to ensure they have a healthy and happy life with their furever family. The adoption donation fees take into consideration age, training, temperament, how long they’ve been in our care, medical condition(s) if any, and numerous other factors.
Your adoption donations are used to help offset the costs to rescue, foster, and rehabilitate (when necessary) the animal you are adopting. Additionally, your donation assists us in our mission to rescue and rehabilitate other deserving dogs in need. Each adoption donation covers a fraction of the total costs associated with these rescue efforts. As a small rescue organization, these funds are essential. Without them, our efforts would quickly come to an end.
Please Note: Certain breeds of dogs may have a higher adoption donation because they require more expensive care, such as specific food, medication, training, and specialized medical attention. Additionally, the demand for certain breeds and the challenges in finding the right homes for some dogs may also contribute to the higher adoption donation.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please complete our online application.

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
