Team Rocky Enterprises Inc DBA Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab (SRGDRR)

Our rescue was founded in honor and memory of Rocky, the Great Dane, whom we tried desperately to save in June 2013. Despite all of our efforts and offers of rehab, he was irresponsibly and needlessly euthanized on June 12, 2013. Every single dog that enters our rescue and rehabilitation will be provided with the care and love that Rocky was denied. The Danes we save will be in his memory and honor. Rocky was a 3-year-old Great Dane that was owner surrendered June 1, 2013, to the Hernando County Animal Shelter in Brooksville, Florida for biting the owner's boyfriend. Euthanization was requested after a 10-day quarantine by the owner. This same owner adopted Rocky from this same shelter in May 2012. He was brought in at the time with a female Dane named Emma. In May 2012, an unnamed rescue tagged Rocky and Emma for rescue, but while awaiting transport, the shelter allowed Rocky and Emma to be adopted out separately thus canceling out all rescue efforts. We had rescue ready to take Rocky ourselves and he would have been going to a wonderful ranch completely fenced on 7 acres. He would have been the only dog in the area and been rehabilitated to be the Great Dane he was meant to be. We offered our rescue services to the vet on site at Hernando County Animal Shelter and they refused. They also refused our animal behavior specialists from the entrance to assess Rocky. Sadly, Rocky left this world on June 12, 2013, despite our efforts; thus, this rescue was founded. Rocky gained media attention with his story, but it still does not justify the wrongdoing towards him. While we were unable to save Rocky, with your prayers, thoughts, and support, we can save others in his honor! Who We Are Team Rocky Enterprises Inc is a federal 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Great Danes, Great Dane mixes, and other giant breeds that have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned. Where We Are We are nationwide, which means that we operate within each state in the United States. However, we are based in Texas. Our group is completely lead by volunteers whom we are grateful for. Why Pick Us Team Rocky Enterprises Inc’s tax ID number is #99-3424400. Our mailing address is P.O. BOX 975 Bullard, TX 75757. Our email address is srgdrr.inc@gmail.com. Team Rocky Enterprises Inc is an organization with platinum level transparency with Guidestar, the highest achievable level. Guidestar is an information service specializing in reporting about nonprofits in the United States. A Little More About Us Our goal is to work with animal shelters, humane societies, and other rescues to protect Great Danes and other giant breeds by locating forever homes. Additionally, we want to educate people about the need for sterilization of all pets, proper health care, nutritional requirements, and the process of spaying/neutering of a pet. We ask that you help us achieve our goal by sharing our rescue with your family and friends. The more awareness that we are able to create, the better the Great Dane breed, and all breeds, will be in the long run. No matter how small your contribution is, it makes a difference, regardless of the cause. Team Rocky Enterprises Inc is funded by donations, adoption donations, and fundraisers. Donations through us are tax-deductible. All of the funds we raise go directly to our rescue fund. If you're looking to help us make a difference, donate a small or large amount of funds, items from our wishlist, or your time through volunteering.

Mission and Vision

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve. To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heart-worm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us. Since 2013, we have been rescuing Great Danes. We take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wish-list, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.

Adoption Policy

How We Adopt The process begins with posting the pets to our website, Facebook page, and over 50 adoption websites. Once you find a dog you are interested in, you will fill out an application, which is forwarded to an application processor. After reviewing the application, a veterinarian check is done. The veterinarian check is followed by a phone interview with you, the applicant. Finally, a home check is done. As soon as everything has cleared, and you have signed a contract along with payment of an adoption donation, your new forever friend is not far off! Fill Out an Application By filling out the application, this process gives you the opportunity to tell us about yourself, your family, and your home. This allows us to find the perfect dog that fits your family's unique wants, needs, and position. It also allows us to confirm all the information needed for where the dog is going and whom he or she is going to be living with. Thus, the safety and welfare of our rescue and others are maintained. Vet Check A veterinarian check gives us an indication if you have properly taken your prior or current furry friend to the vet to ensure the longevity of their health. Vaccinations, heart-worm prevention, yearly check-ups, and etc., are all important to the health of your animal. SRGDRR does not automatically turn down applicants who have not had a pet before. Phone Interview The application is your chance to begin telling us about yourself and your family. The phone interview is our opportunity for us to tell you about ourselves, the Team Rocky organization. And more importantly, for us to tell you about the animal you are interested in adopting. Through this conversation, you’ll find out if the dog likes children, the expectations of having this particular pet, and the medical history of this pet. On top of this, you will learn if the dog has any quirky behaviors like sitting on the side of the bathtub while you are taking your shower or any baggage from the household he or she previously came from. For us, this is the most important part of the adoption process. Furthermore, this is your opportunity to ask us questions that you feel are important about both our organization and the animal you wish to adopt. When going through the adoption process, we match the needs of the dog with the home which can best meet those needs. If a dog has some separation anxiety, the dog is properly placed in a home with someone who can be home for most hours of the day; for example, a stay at home mother would be a wonderful home for an animal with separation anxiety. If the dog needs someone who understands their specific breed, a home with experience in that breed is what we tend to look for. Home Check It’s not that we don’t trust you, we simply want to verify that you do indeed live in a home with a fenced-in yard or are capable of leash-walking (apartments, country-living, etc.). Some applicants may try to falsify their application by stating that they have closed off the property when they truly do not. The home check is also used to make sure that your home is appropriate for the dog you want to adopt. We aren't doing a home check to see if you dusted on top of the dressers, just that the dog will have a safe and secure home to live in. Final Process If everything goes well with the vet check, phone interview, and the home check, you will be notified that you are approved to adopt the dog you applied for. When you are ready to take the dog home, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract. This contract is standard with most rescue groups and is for the safety and welfare of the dog, as well as for you. Team Rocky's concern for the dog continues long after it has been adopted, and if something were to happen, we want to help.

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
