Yucaipa Animal Placement Society (YAPS) is a no-kill nonprofit dog and cat rescue based in Yucaipa, CA. Our mission is to strive to prevent the euthanasia of dogs and cats throughout the region by providing them a temporary safe haven until a permanent and loving home can be found.

Mission and Vision

ADOPT A PET MAKE A DONATION Yucaipa Valley Animal Placement Society is a no kill, nonprofit animal rescue that strives to prevent the euthanasia of dogs and cats in shelters throughout the region by providing them a temporary safe haven until a permanent loving home can be found.

Adoption Policy

In order to adopt a pet from YAPS, adopters must come to meet the pet in person, this includes other household members and children. If interested in a dog and other dogs reside in the home, they also must meet the dog. All pets will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to finalizing adoption with YAPS. We do offer senior(pets)-to-senior(people) adoption discounts as well.

"I am a vet tech at an animal hospital that YAPS uses to take care of all their fur babies! They take the health and well being of all their animals very seriously! They take AMAZING care of their animals, never missing a recheck, treatment ect… They always get the animals the care they need ASAP! Not only do they take great care of their pets, but their staff and volunteers are some of the best humans I’ve ever met! They all have a love for this line of work and it really shows! YAPS is a great place with amazing people and even more amazing animals!"

"YAPS not only saves the lives of dogs and kitties in our community, they also save our citizens who are in need of the love and friendship of a furry friend. They never give up on a dog or cat until they find a forever home. They have a strong volunteer program that allows dogs to have social interaction/ training/ fostering. This I believe allows for many successful placements. They participate in the community with adoption events and fun fundraisers to bring the community together and raise money for the shelter. Ofc they take donations as well but I love that it is not there only way to raise money. They built a beautiful cattery for the cats. They also take a non judgmental approach to surrenders. Although I personally do not like people who surrender a pet, I understand that making it accessible and non judgmental actually saves more pets lives. I love this approach. If you find a stray, they will scan it and help you return the stray home. I hope you consider them, they truly go above and beyond"

This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development. David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners. Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature. David is based in Salem, MA.
