55This was a great piece of land with more than enough room for your dog to sniff, run and explore. We made use of some of the toys which were fun! There are some little trails through the trees.
The area is completely fenced so no worry with escaping. It does seem to be shared with livestock on their farm so there are animal droppings, which you may consider if your dog has a particular… taste for it. But it caused no problems or mess! The only place where there is some mud is at the gate when the ground is wet but the owner provided towels to wipe paws. As well, while there were no other domestic animals within 50 feet of the area, you can definitely hear horses and roosters from somewhere on the property. Don’t worry! There are no free runners!
The owner was lovely and came out to inform where to park as I was not certain when I arrived.
Very happy with the visit!Sierra T.

55Great spot with lots of space. I noticed a break in the boards at one spot. I let the owner know and she fixed it right away! Completely fenced and a great area to explore! Ally W.

55This is a beautiful place!! Our dogs absolutely loved it and it was fully fenced so we were not worried at all about any of them getting out. So helpful to have clean towels, toys and water at the entrance. Provided a bit of a training opportunity for our young dog as there was a fair amount of frozen farm animal poop that she was a little too interested in so had to remind to "leave it" frequently, but we will still be back!Sarah M.

55Great park! Entire area is fenced in which is great because my dog has no recall. Very easy to find, clean park with lots of smells and was left for my dog which was so nice! Noel B.

55My roommate’s dog and mine had a great time having more space to run around than just our small backyard, play a little “find mom” hiding behind some trees and practice some obedience in a new area! Jennifer L.

55Thank you! Wonderful location. Easy to access off the highway. The farm animals were amusing to see and hear in the next pen. Everything was fully fenced and easy to navigate. Large space and lots of sniff time. All were happy! Sarah Y.

55Great space with lots of room to run. We appreciated the fully fenced area, toys, and that the host left out towels and spray to clean off dogs on a muddy spring day (even though we didn’t use them, it was just super thoughtful).Leslie H.

55My dogs had a great time running around & exploring! The space is large with lots of variety in terrain. Chuckit ball launchers at the entrance were a big hit too.
Note: rubber boots are needed right now due to all the melting snow. The clean towels at the exit were much appreciated for drying everyone off 😅Jacqueline P.

55Definitely a bit mucky, but that's expected given the recent thaw. The space is huge, definitely various animals have been in the field and there are a lot of different animal droppings but it provides a really great sniffing experience. Our pup really enjoyed all the opportunities to take in the different smells, space to run and explore, and overall had a great time. Definitely, will be back but likely when things dry up a bit more. Still a great place to go for now if you have a pair of rubber boots. Only feedback would be that some signage or parking instructions would be helpful to figure out where to go when you get there.Paige K.

55I really like this sniffspot. My dog and I have been here before with my sister and brother in law and their dogs, but this is the first time I booked it myself. As a few others have mentioned, it is pretty muddy right now. Normal for this time of year of course - but I forgot how slippery mud can be!! Learn from my mistakes and take it easy when walking from your vehicle to the gate lol. No sudden moves!
That said, the dogs of course had an amazing time running and playing. And everyone had a bath when we got home!
More animal droppings than I remembered from the last time I was here - but that’s probably because the snow that had covered them before has melted.
Very grateful for the clean towels by the gate, thank you for that thoughtful touch!
I’ll definitely be back after it dries out a bit again!Chelsea M.

55Quite wet still but with the weather completely understandable. Cassandra sent me a message before hand to warn us, definitely bring your rubber boots if you’re heading there soon. 55Great big space to run and play with a nice treed area with a short path! Fully fenced, even had some picnic benches at the front. Host provided a water dish and there were chuck-it’s available as well.
There was a chicken coop but it wasn’t visible from the park itself, only from the parking spot. There was animal droppings throughout the area which was listed, so I would avoid if your dog likes to snack on or roll in droppings. There was a pile of scrap metal as well as a pile of ash where junk had been burned, which could possibly be considered a hazard depending on the dog. The scrap is mostly contained to one section so we were able to stay away from it fine.
Overall we had a good time and this spot shows great potential! Would probably be my favourite in the area if it wasn’t for the small hazards!Jade P.

FAQ about our Carvel dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
