Dog day Adventure on the Farm Dog Park

I have almost 4 acres. I have livestock and small animals such as chickens pigs and rabbits water turtles and large tortoises. All animals will be enclosed or fenced off. Your doggo will be able to interact with them through fencing. I have areas that will be closed off but will allow doggo in on leash. This is where I keep my rabbits and tortoises. My place has lots of different areas to explore from a rocky hillside to shade trees with an area to picnic. I have kiddie pools that will be available for the hot dog. Because of the different terrain please be aware the land is unlevel and varies from grass to sand and then rock. Parking will be inside the property. The gate is kept closed. I will open it for you. Your doggo will be full of energy when they get here but will leave here exhausted and happy. And we love the holidays around here so I will have an area decorated for the holiday. Originally built by John Wilkins (Red Barn Opry founder) it leads to John’s cross and then up the hillside about a quarter mile to the Angeles National Forest. Moderate to difficult due to slippery hillsides, poorly marked switch backs, and fallen trees. But great views! Hazards: UNFENCED! Coyotes, rattlesnakes, cougars, and other wildlife. This place is a gem! Went with my Jagdterrier and wasn't expecting to be able to actually let her run off leash in such a big area, but to my surprise I could! We had a wonderful, relaxing time: the hosts' directions were helpful, the trails clearly visible, the place is peaceful, clean and safe. Definitely recommend the creek hike as it is a hidden paradise spot. It can get pretty hot during the day, but the trees offer a nice balance of sun and shade on the trails. My advice is to wear trail/hiking shoes rather than sneakers/running shoes. David and Alma are responsive and welcoming, we will go back!

What a fairytale SniffSpot! Alma was very helpful in guiding where to drive. The cell service was spotty so be sure to get the directions before arriving. The hike was both easy and moderate only when it got steep. There’s plenty of shade to cool off in. The creek was not far into the hike. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to locate the SniffSpot. The water was crystal clear. Loved the swing, hammock and picnic table. Plenty of chairs to watch pups enjoy the water. My dogs had such a blast! Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent spot. Directions were perfect and the host was communicative and friendly. The avocado groves had well maintained paths and lots of shade. We spent most of our time at the add-on creek adventure, with the dogs splashing around and me hopping from boulder to boulder. We had a small incident when a neighbor hiked through and said we didn’t belong there. I guess there is a property line dispute, but the host took care of it. We did the avocado picking add-on after our hiking time was up. The host picked us up in an off-road vehicle and drove us around looking for trees with good-sized avocados. She had a long pole picker and let us take about 10 avocados home. Overall wonderful experience. Will definitely be back.

We had the best time! Our border collie is high drive and high energy and we’ve missed off lead trails (especially with water) since we moved from the PNW. This was an amazing space - she loved the short hike down and had a blast at the creek. It was calm, clean, and very fun and relaxing for my wife and I as well. Our dog slept all the way back to LA, and a tired border collie is a happy border collie :) We’ll definitely be coming back.

Moderately difficult hike on the way back up from the creek, wear shoes for hiking and be aware it’s loose sand! The creek is paradise - we got lost and ended up taking an hour to finally get down to the creek so we didn’t get nearly as much time as we wanted, it’s so hard to leave! Alma was so patient and helpful making sure we got there safely, well absolutely be back!

It was a lot of fun being able to hike around the area with our pup. There was some confusion on the extra lemonade/lemon picking add-on we purchased. But overall the hosts were lovely and helpful. Just be aware there is very little cellular signal, so communicating with the hosts while hiking is a bit difficult.

Are dog hiking trails safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
