There are 15 acres of native prairie grasses and plants. There are a few trees and rolling hills. There is approximately 1.5 miles of mowed trails that loop and connect, creating several options for new routes for each visit. There is also an outhouse available if needed. However, it is within our normally private area, so dogs must be on leashes and there are hooks for leashes while in use.

** We are open and accepting bookings on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Years Day. ** 23 acres enclosed with 4' high woven wire fence, a mix of open field and heavy woods, sometimes turkey, grouse, gophers, and bunnies, lots of "sniff therapy"! Private entrance is shaded with easy access right onto the wooded trails! The portapotty and dog rinse station are located in the parking area. We have bug sprays and poop bags at the entrance and the far end of the field for you to use if needed. Special visitation hours or larger groups may be available under prior arrangement. Shoot us a message, and we can usually make larger groups or people traveling to/from dog competitions happen! For those traveling, we might also be able to accommodate visits outside of our normal hours. ***now that we have freezing temps at night, we are not leaving water out in the field.***

Opportunity Woods Private Dog Park In Ridgeland

**If you are new to SniffSpot, please know that SS is doing a trial of enforced membership in SniffPass. You are able to opt out during the free week without paying the fee and continue to make single paid reservations as current guests do. Now my description: Opportunity Woods offers 5+ acres of hilly woods and long grass meadow surrounded by a secure 6 foot fence. Several benches are placed along the rustic trails, but of course, there is no need to stay on a trail! A water bowl can be found and filled from the human-potable water hydrant, where you will also find a wading pool for dog and human use in summer. There is a roofed picnic/shade shelter just up the hill from the hydrant. Take in the serene view of the surrounding area, and get a Birdseye view of Opportunity Farm, where sheep graze the nearby paddocks. Wire-wheel tables and chairs are available for relaxing, hanging out with your dog or having a picnic. Have your dog invite their friends to join in the fun, or have a private play date just with you!

Hello all! We are located on 40 acres. 7 acres is open space with fields, trails, and even some animals to sniff! (Chickens, goats, and horses) the back 30 is swampy woods. Fun for pups but not so fun for their owners. Keep a watchful eye! There is a mud puddle, not big enough for big dog swimming but definitely extremely fun to splash in! Lots of hills and long open stretches to get those legs moving. We’re happy to have you and hope your pups have a blast!

Nice walking paths! A few spots my puppy tried to run out but there weren’t many distractions so it was a good chance to practice his recall and he did fine!

We had such a great time! The fenced in area was great for our pup to run around and the trail was fabulous. We did hear dogs barking for the first bit of out time slot, which wasn’t issue for our dog who doesn’t hear so well, but worth noting. It was nice that there was a garbage can to throw away our poop bags in as well! We will most definitely be back!

This is a nice and peaceful Sniffspot with fields, rolling hills, and small trees. There is a smaller fenced-in area for training where there was also a handy water dish. It would be an excellent place to view the sunset, but I was a bit early! Next time.

Continues to be our favorite place to run without worrying about other dogs. The owners dogs are in kennels and do bark quite a bit, but my dogs have learned to ignore them or he gives us a heads up and we don’t walk where they are located.

What a wonderful spot! The fenced in area was plenty big enough to throw some balls for our boy. The trail was well maintained. The driveway was blocked due to it being muddy, but it was a short, easy walk to the main areas! We will absolutely be back!

Such a great spot with wide open trails and views of the whole property from many of the slow sloping hills. Easy to find and park. The little fenced space is a great spot for dogs to begin to explore while you get everything ready for your walk. Thank you for providing this space for our community!

After tragedy at an EC public dog park in April, I am so grateful for this private space for my dogs. Safe, mostly secure, and just 15 acres of space. Hopefully it dries out soon so the trails can be mowed (lots of tall weeds this time), but overall my dogs LOVE it!

We come here fairly often and the pups always have a nice time. Recently we added two more dogs to our pack. This place is just the right size to get them all the exercise they could ever need but big enough for the bigger dogs to be thoroughly worn out after an hour. It’s easy to find and always clean. I really appreciate the cooler of water and smaller fenced in space for a break too.

Trails nicely groomed, 5 gallon water thermos provided to fill dog's water bowl, private, shaded areas for pup's to cool down and benches for humans to rest on. Definitely will use again.

Great and private spot. Was a bit nervous about the area not being fully fenced, but the way the trails and vegetation are arranged it was totally not an issue for our excitable GSD. Finn had an awesome time - and so did the dog parents! So relaxing! Fenced spot is large, we got the initial excited zoomies out there, and then hit the trail. We will be back!

In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
