55This spot was PERFECT for my on leash reactive dogs. They got to run to
Their hearts content, sniff anything and everything and chase each other around without me having to worry about running into anyone. It was so nice they were able to just be dogs. The trails were steep but totally manageable! We will be back for sure. Emma B.

55Loved it! Your own private slice of Forest Park. Looking forward to going back.
Really beautiful property that slopes down to a lovely creek, with plenty to sniff along the way. Hosts have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making this welcoming and fun. The main trails are well graded, wide and clearly maintained with rainy days in mind. Recommend still wearing sturdy shoes - especially if you plan to go on side trails. (There's a map at the parking area of the trails and then they have marked them along the way!) This also looks to be a well shaded location for when summer arrives.
The property has clear boundaries but not a literal fence the whole way like a dog park. It was sufficient to keep my adventurous hound from following her nose too far astray.
For Reactive Dogs: This was really private and once you get past the parking area, there really isn't an opportunity to see other people, cars, etc - truly is private. One of the dogs with us was reactive to strangers and the hosts were really accommodating to his needs. But really, the place is private enough there aren't going to be other people or dogs walking past - even where you park.
Looking forward to visiting again!Mandy S.

55Like others have mentioned, it was muddy in places but I made it through fine with my hiking boots. We made it through the trails pretty quickly but my dog loved it! Went through all of them a few times and hung out for about an hour. There’s a very sturdy fence around the property which is great because they have chickens and goats and other birds and my dog was very interested. Will definitely be back!Inga D.

55This was the perfect place to do some off leash hiking training with our pup. It is a gorgeous spot, albeit really muddy mid-winter. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon. Thanks for sharing your land! Trisha R.

55Very pretty spot. Three trails to choose from and marked well. It seemed that some of the trails were blocked with a barricade before the end, but maybe I just reached the end and didn’t realize. Decently steep though, keep that in mind with any mobility issues. Elisabeth B.

55This spot was amazing!! Our aussie had the best time and kept having the zoomies. Definitely steep in some places and with the current weather it is pretty muddy, but we still had an amazing time and plan to bring our pup back. Maria C.

55We had so much fun here! We came on a stormy, drizzly day and enjoyed having some shelter from the wind and rain with the trees and hillside. Our dogs absolutely loved running up and down the trails and playing in the creek. It is very steep and very muddy—we did ok in our hiking boots but had to go slow! On a wet day rain boots would probably be better. The lower trail was muddier than the others. Trail ends are well marked and the views are beautiful!Hannah B.

55Awesome spot! I appreciate how much work the hosts put in to marking the trails (including their ends) and parking clearly, and having spare poop bags in case. From other reviews I thought the steepness would be scramble-level but it’s just that you get out of breath on the way back up. Which is nice because usually if I take the dogs to a sniff spot I still have to find a way to get my own exercise and here I got a twofer. Beautiful wooded area! Oh and another reviewer mentioned goats - I stayed on the bottom two trails and it’s easy to keep away from the house. (From the parking to go down the hill I didn’t see any critters.) It’s un-fenced so you obviously need good recall anyway. If I lived close I’d be here every week!Jo B.

55What we got to explore was so great! And we’re excited to come back and explore more! There are three different trails including a small meadow, creek, and view! Mud boots recommended. The mud stinks a little, but nothing that will keep us from coming back. Dogs’ noses are not short of entertainment here! Beautiful trees, great workout hills. Dogs could be let out right from parking spot. I seriously cannot wait to come back!Ashtyn B.

55Perfect spot! We didn’t need to stay long because our dog did the trails 2x, running ahead and back the entire time! She was exhausted. ;-) Fresh eggs available to buy is a nice touch. They were waiting for me upon arrival. Agree with other comments, it is a tiny forest park all to yourself. Beth B.

55Bruno had a blast running up and down the steep trails! The little creek was fun for him as well. It’s really muddy right now, so wear appropriate footwear. We also went to the little fort, although it was a little sketchy getting there with the slippery mud. There is still so much more to explore and sniff, so we will be back!Chantalle v.

55If you’re craving a Forest Park experience but don’t want to risk running into any dogs on the trail, this is for you! My two large high energy dogs were worn out chasing each other up and down the trails within a half hour, and so was I. Very steep incline, not safe for persons with disabilities, and would probably not be as comfortable for senior dogs or smaller dogs but if you have a big pup this is a great spot. We also picked up some local eggs which were a great deal especially right now! Lea H.

FAQ about our Gresham dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
