55This is a great Sniffspot with a secure fence and it’s pretty big! It’s right off 95. It rained during our visit but there was an umbrella we stood under for a bit which was nice to have. Our pup loved playing fetch! Jessica L.

55If your dog likes to sniff - this is the place for you! Our shepherd/hound mix spent the whole hour with his nose to the ground exploring and he was so happy! The chickens were so fun, they’re in a very secure enclosure that your dog can’t get into. A perfect spot for natural enrichment or socializing!! Emily M.

55It was easy to find and we appreciated the off street parking. The yard was easy to access and very secure. I also really like that there's a tent for the humans to hang out under. The pups appreciated that there was plenty of shade from trees to hang out under in between zooming around after all of the tennis balls in the yard. Just note that there are neighbors and other dogs around that you can see through the fence if that might be an issue for you or your doggos. Megan G.

55Huge yard, clean, and lots of grass! Host even put a kiddie pool out for my dog to use and a canopy for shade. Fence is secure but only a few feet high if your dog is prone to jump fences. There are chickens in a coop on the property and the next door dogs barked at mine through the chain link fence which could be an issue if you dog is especially reactive. Mine didn't seem to care at all since she was having so much fun. Hannah P.

Victoria's Fully Fenced SHADED Yard Under Giant Oak In Arbutus | Sniffspot
55Nice, big, CLEAN yard! Well fenced, good footing. The big oak provided great cooling shade!
I liked that the yard is basically level and was very well shaded while we were there. It’s a nice place to take our skills on the road to proof. And he showed me we need to do a lot more of that! He was a little concerned about noises he could hear but not see the source of (mostly people going in and out of the building next door). My dog lacks confidence, a more confident dog wouldn’t have had any issues there. He loved playing catch, fetch and tug with his chuck it balls. Eventually he got comfortable enough to confidently work on his tricks and skills.
The site had water and toys provided but I always bring my own. There is an outdoor ‘couch’ and a hanging ‘hammock’ chair. I might have tried the chair but it was in the sun, too hot for me.
All in all we were comfortable. My dog did get hot and asked to leave at the 45 minute mark. He drank plenty of water throughout but he’s got a heavy coat and near zero heat tolerance. Next time I’ll schedule earlier for him. Sarah B.

55I brought my two dogs to this Sniffspot and had a fantastic experience! The grass was lush and well-maintained, and the entire yard was spotless. Parking was super easy and convenient, which made the visit even more stress-free. The yard felt completely secure with no potential escape spots, which gave me great peace of mind. We didn’t see or hear any other dogs during our visit. The owner was friendly and had excellent communication throughout. The location couldn’t be better — we’ll definitely be back!

FAQ About Halethorpe Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 2% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Halethorpe area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 525 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 768 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
