Bring your snowshoes if you would like a bit of a workout yourself off trail in the deeper snow! PLEASE NOTE: Zero tolerance for smoking of ANYTHING while on our property. You may smoke in your own personal vehicle. But also, do NOT leave your dogs unattended. Please pick up after your dog. I am finding a crazy amount of poop left behind. Fill any holes you pup digs and return toy to bin. Also, in the winter months, please be aware that their is no lighting in the field. The designated Sniffspot parking area has ample lighting but none in the field. 9-23-24, hunting season is back, you may hear shotgun in the early am hours from hunters along the Mississippi River.

Now my description: Opportunity Woods offers 5+ acres of hilly woods and long grass meadow surrounded by a secure 6 foot fence. Several benches are placed along the rustic trails, but of course, there is no need to stay on a trail! A water bowl can be found and filled from the human-potable water hydrant, where you will also find a wading pool for dog and human use in summer. There is a roofed picnic/shade shelter just up the hill from the hydrant. Take in the serene view of the surrounding area, and get a Birdseye view of Opportunity Farm, where sheep graze the nearby paddocks. Wire-wheel tables and chairs are available for relaxing, hanging out with your dog or having a picnic. Have your dog invite their friends to join in the fun, or have a private play date just with you!

If you drive in by the picnic table you are in the center of 18 acres to play on and will be quite a distance from the road. There are mowed walking paths to the beautiful Kinnickinnic river, far away from other people and animals. You and your dog will love it here! The river is cold and easy for dogs to hop in and out, (not easy for humans right now). If you want to keep them out of the water there is about 10 acres of open field where you park, separate and above the river so you don't need to have them down by the water at all. (although most dogs gravitate to there!)
