Coming here will feel like you are in the country with the beauty of the mountains, a field to run in and a trail to hike in. *Please note that the acreage is a total of 86 acres including the crop areas. There is very little time that the crop area is restricted. When the pumpkins are grown, it is fun to walk up the rows and we welcome the pups to be in there, take photos etc. If you visit during planting, we ask the dogs stay out of that area as that can damage the crop. There is lots of space to run and walk/hike. The perimeter trail is approximately 3.5km. There is short grass, tall grass the dogs can go in and out all over the field in the front and middle of the property. As well as up the hill trail.

22+ acre property with 20 acres that is fully/securely fenced. The front half is an open field & orchard, the back is forested and has maintained trails throughout. There's covered seating in the field & woods, portapotty, drinking water station, toys etc - see amenities for more details. There are seasonal streams, ponds in the woods this time of year, plus extra puddles & mud during/after moderate-heavy rain. Foot bridges and woodchips keep the main trails in decent shape for walking but there are plenty of muddy areas to explore so expect a wet, dirty dog - waterproof traction boots (muckboots etc) recommended. There's a dog rinse station (elevated, tethers, sidewalls) for faster cleaning that's easy on the back and keeps clothing drier; bring your own towels. Reservations are available up to 30 days in advance. Some days fill fast but plans can change & bookings get modified/canceled (2+hrs beforehand) - check back for an opening if interested. Thank you for being considerate of our space by reading and abiding by SS and spot specific rules and asking all who accompany you to do the same. First time visitors get an auto-message 2hrs beforehand with helpful info.

Please enjoy our fully fenced 5-acre field and wooded area for an intro price of $10/hour while we learn and refine. During the winter, the back section is quite flooded especially after snow and rain. We monitor it and will open it as soon as we can. Meanwhile, enjoy the field and smaller wooded trails. If you are interested in visiting here, please message and if it works out I’ll be happy to accommodate you. 07/01/22- Important: The Sniffspot platform does not allow hosts the option to approve or cancel reservations, as such I have blocked my calendar to more easily control reservations. I often don’t know until last minute when the forest manager I’m working with for the DNR forest cleanup project is on-site, the logging will take place hopefully this winter. — This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old-growth forest, and phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet with the exception of the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. This property was once a show home, but a fire took place over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the ruins that remain are minimal, it sets an interesting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photoshoot. Within the property is a small orchard, we do ask to try to not let the pups do their business there. Spring 2022 Update: One picnic table have been added to the property.

By far the best Sniffspot in this area. Barb is constantly making improvements. Having an off leash area to relax in with my reactive pup is beneficial for us both. It's also a great place to practice recall. A quick check in and he can go back to the fun. Highly recommend this spot!

Ridiculously amazing sniff spot. Wish we could have stayed longer, but my dog heard fireworks (it's the 4th of July and we knew it was a risk! Barb even told us it was possible)... And she shut down when she heard them. But next time we're in the area, we will be back FOR SURE! Great communication, amazing open field with tall grass, and the forest paths (that we were barely able to see). Can't wait to return.

We visit usually twice a week and love it. The host makes every attempt to create a safe, fun experience for your dog. Living here means rain...which can mean mud but the host has put wooden bridges with non-stick surface for crossing muddy or water areas (which my dogs ignored bit we appreciated haha!). Also put down hay to make crossing some small muddy areas easier. The little touches and the great area makes us regular visitors!

As usual, a wonderful experience! I'm blown away by how much maintenance and care are performed on the field, fence and trails. There are some muddy areas, and I wore boots, but it was dramatically better than I expected. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate being able to take my dogs (one who is deaf and has limited vision and the other can be people reactive) to such a large, fully fenced area where they can run, sniff, fetch and explore safely. Worth every penny.

We absolutely love this location!!! Best place to bring our rescue dog. He has quite a bit of anxiety from loud noises, which makes the location perfect for him. The area is out in the country away from loud noises - which makes it perfect. We love the open field, the trees and trail in the back. There is even has a water station for dogs!!! We’re able to walk our dog around unleashed and unbothered. Best place I’ve seen so far. Well worth the price. He’s already been twice this week!!! Looking forward to the next visit 😀

We have visited twice, and look forward to going again soon. There is both a large field, and a wooded area with trails. The trails are rugged but we'll marked and fun! There are trash cans, benches, lawn chairs, a water station... Really a fabulous place to bring the dogs. Thanks!

Awesome spot! My dog loved chasing her ball farther than I have ever had the space to throw it! And being able to let her run around on trails off leash in the woods was a rare treat. The field and woods were muddy (as stated in the description) but I didn't mind and my dog loved it. Barb did a great job at introducing us tp the property and pointing out the dryer areas of the field. I also really appreciated all the little bridges the she put up in muddy spots in the woods. Looking forward to our next visit!

55It has been years since I've been able to enjoy a stress free off leash walk with my girl Prudence and that is exactly what Nature lovers, frisbee & chuck-it paradise provided! This is an ideal spot for fearful or reactive dogs. We did a warm up lap of the fully fenced field before heading into the wooded, fully fenced, trail system then back to the field for a cool down lap. Barb was a lovely host, met us as soon as we pulled in and gave us a quick over view of the property, pointing out the best areas in the field for playing fetch, and the entrance to the trail system. Chuck it, water station, and poo station are provided by the host. The trail system is nicely marked with maps and flags though it is easy to go off the beaten path and find your way back. There is a dog across the street that you can hear bark but you cannot see him. My reactive girl didn't have a problem with it until we tried walking the fence line along the street. She was easy to redirect but if you think it may be challenging for your dog to not engage in the fence barking I would avoid walking that section of the field. There were 3 marked parking spaces for this sniffspot making it easy to meet up with others. I'm excited to make this a regular walk for my pups as it's only 7 minutes from my house. But even for my dog reactive clients in Bellingham it is well worth the adventure!Amber T.

We really enjoyed our visit at this Sniff Spot. The dogs had a good time romping around the trails and trees. Bonus was the creek running through the site where the dogs could cool off and get a drink. Especially appreciated the picnic tables where we could take a rest and drink some water. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
