Founded in May of 2011, DFW Beagle Buddies is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
We rescue Beagles and Beagle mixes in area shelters and get them healthy, happy, and into loving forever homes. We do not have a physical location; we rely on foster homes to house the dogs until they are adopted.
All Beagle Buddies are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested/treated prior to adoption.
Our fosters, donors, and volunteers are integral to our mission and are much loved and appreciated!
Mission and Vision
We rescue unwanted, neglected, abused, or homeless Beagles and provide them with medical, physical, emotional, and behavioral support so that they can be adopted into loving, permanent homes.

Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is as follows:
Application
All potential adopters must have an application on file prior to meeting the dog they are interested in. We must process and approve your application, including a vet check, before we schedule a meet and greet.
Meet & Greet and/or Trial Visit
We try to be as flexible as possible in this step. Some adopters prefer to simply meet the dog they are interested in, and other adopters have already fallen in love with photos and are ready to welcome the dog into their home. There is no physical shelter or location where you can go to visit multiple dogs. All the dogs are in foster homes.
If you’d just like to meet a dog, we will put you in touch with their foster family and you may go have a meet and greet with the dog. If you have not already had a home visit, one will need to be completed prior to you taking the dog home.
If you’re ready to have the dog over for a trial visit, we will bring the dog to you (or arrange a home visit/pickup time.) The length of the trial visit depends on the dog and the potential family as well as if there are other potential adopters interested. Generally, the trial visit lasts about a week. We do try to give you ample time to make an informed decision about adoption.
Finalizing the Adoption
When you’re ready to adopt, we’ll collect the adoption donation and finalize the paperwork. The adoption donation is $300 for adult dogs and $400 for puppies younger than 6 months. Unless otherwise noted, all are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
The adoption donations rarely, if ever, cover the cost of vetting – especially if teeth cleaning, heartworm treatment, or specialty surgery is needed. We average about $500 in vet bills per dog. Any donations to help with the cost of vetting are much appreciated! We will provide all of the vet paperwork to you so that you can provide it to your veterinarian. We will also register the dog’s microchip for you.
You may pay the adoption fee here, in our shop, or on our Donation page.
After Adoption
We are here to help for the life of the dog. You are encouraged to contact us with any questions or concerns at any time, regardless of how long it has been since you adopted!
We are Beagle lovers and experienced Beagle owners and we’ve been through a lot! If you ever need suggestions or advice, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We also LOVE to get updates and photos of our adopted dogs. We’re one big Beagle family here and nothing makes us happier than to hear of the adventures of our alumni!

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
