55Paul is such a gracious host and communicative. We were initially lost (GPS issue) but eventually found the spot. It’s a beautiful area to take your dog walking, practice recall. I highly recommend- especially for those in the Tacoma area (20 min) and looking for some off leash experience. Kate T.

55Wonderful spot and thoughtfully planned. It was such a treat to have a safe, secure place to practice recall and let our young pup run off some extra energy. We had a very content dog at the end of the hour. So many dogs need this type of safe space but it's hard to come by if you don't have your own property. Thank you to the host for sharing this land and making many local dogs so happy! Kimberly H.

55This is a nice spot. The instructions were clear , there were chairs , a table, drinking water and paper bowls for the pups and a trash can for waste. We had a really nice time hiking around and then just relaxed in the chairs while the pups were able to wander and explore and enjoy some stick throwing. I will note that we did see someone on the trail picking blackberrys which were a plenty, but the host did mention that. He quickly left. I’m glad we still had our pups on their leash as they are reactive. After that they were let off and free to roam and sniff. We did not see any more humans and saw or heard no other dogs. If your dogs are reactive i would keep them on leash until you reach the chairs. Great time to be had by all!Denise R.

55The newly added trails are great! Walking slowly through snow with a few stops here and there it took about an hour to walk all of them. Paul left a map showing the new trails out at the entrance, which made it really easy to find them. Some sections of trail still have a lot of blackberry shoots coming up, but that will just take time. Paul clearly cares about making his property welcoming and easy to navigate. I will visit again soon!Heidi S.

55This is one of the best places to take your dog(s) for an outing! It has so many different adventure options suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities. There are well worn paths through a forested property where you may see the tracks of a family of deer who use the trails, and your dog may detect the odors of raccoons, squirrels, and rabbits and may actually see one. Of course there is a lot of bird song. Two of the trails go near small ponds and the frogs croak out their mating songs until they detect a presence.
There are some relatively new side trails the host has put in and they are for the slightly more adventurous as they are a little rougher, but I'm a 76 year old woman and I found them easy enough and interesting and my dog was delighted. He even went bounding off onto some trails that must have been made by the animals who live out there.
The first new trail begins to the right just a little way past the entrance and leads around by one of the ponds which is not a place for wading or dog paddling--there are many little willow trees growing up in it and a dog might want to sniff around the edges but is unlikely to do more than that. That side trail leads back to the well-worn path. Turn right as you come to it and you'll come to the central area where there is a little table with a map on it and two chairs and a trash can for doggie doo bags.
From there you can go straight up the slight slant to a loop around some big trees and there are two trails that take off from that loop, too. Or from that central area, you can turn left and continue a short way to a trail on the left that will come out near the beginning of the SniffSpot where your car is parked. That trail is one used by the deer so you may spot some tracks.
Keep your eye out on all the trails for little rock or stick constructions made by the wee forest folk and on the trail that goes to the loop there's a piece of wood on the left where they stash their tiny white quartz stones. I like to add one or two if I find any on the trails.
Oh. I advise you to wear walking shoes rather than sandals, especially on the newer trails. This is a wonderful place to experience and enjoy the peace of being surrounded by nature.
On the loop trail you may hear a horse whinny as there is a big pasture nearby and you might hear an occasional dog from neighboring houses and the sounds of children playing, but those are natural sounds, too.Linda S.

55Our 3 pups had SO much fun visiting this sniff spot! John and Stephanie were so hospitable and gave really clear instructions on how to maximize the fun on their beautiful property. There is plenty of room to roam, experience the trails, hang out by the creek, and enjoy being outside in a safe, clean and scenic area! Having an 11 month old Border Collie who is reactive to animals makes a lot of public spaces really tough, this gave so many opportunities for off leash practice, recall and providing a really enriching experience for our dogs! 55amazing! i fractured my ankle last week and my dogs needed an adventure, the hosts met me when i arrived and helped me (on my scooter) and my dogs to the spot. i didn't get to explore the trails but my dogs had a blast. checking everything out and playing in the creek! Tain R.

55This was our first time using a sniff spot, and I’m so glad we went. The property was lovely, peaceful, and our host John made us feel very welcome. Our 2 dogs enjoyed running through the woods, and they spent a lot of time in the shallow creek. We will definitely be back. We highly recommend this sniff spot. Marty K.

55It is the loveliest property with a creek, multiple trails, sightings of sweet farm animals and great hosts! We’re already excited to go back. Butters throughly enjoyed himself in this green wonderland. Thank you to the hosts for sharing their amazing space! Ayesha T.
