We live on 15 acres, and now have 1.5 acres fully fenced! It is all very flat land making for an easy stroll with your dogs. We are boarded on two edges by farm fields and two edges by neighbors. There is a trail that circles the property, with plenty of space to explore. During the summer, please take advantage of the small kiddie pool. There are also toys and chairs in the fenced area for all guests. Some seasonal things to keep in mind: Spring/fall when we have heavy rain, some areas could have standing water and/or be muddy. Mid to late summer, there are fox tails (cheat grass) that can cling to your dogs. Winter, the trails might not be plowed. There will be a 5gal bucket in the wood shed (inside the fenced area) full of water you can use to refill the two water bowls. Keep an eye out for trip hazards! Logs, sticks, uneven ground and holes.

The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. Such a lovely place to spend time with my three dogs! This was my first spot/time using Sniffspot and it didn’t disappoint. Trails were properly marked. There were places for the dogs to get water. Easy to find via google maps and park. There was an open pasture area that had toys, rocks, seating area with a fire pit, water station and wide open spaces for the dogs to play. Will definitely come back here again thank you so much for making the space available :)

Pros: natural wooded area with groomed trail. Feels private and supplies were provided, if needed. Covered area available. There is DNR trails available off the property. Pond and running stream. Cons: We did hear gun shots, quite loud, during our time so decided to leave a little early. This cannot be controlled by the property owners, understood, we just got unlucky. I also did not read about loose domestic (black /and white) rabbits close to the mentioned aviary bird enclosure (we saw 4 running around), in the description. This scared me, as I do own a dog with high prey drive. His recall is decent but if he gets predatory drift I cannot call him off killing critters. He was kept on leash after we saw the rabbits so less off leash time. Luckily he didn’t get to these rabbits as my friend ahead of me warned me. If I knew about this prior I would not have booked. Overall, the area available to us seemed smaller than listed 20 acres.

Dogs had an amazing time at Black Pond! This spot is great with all of the different things it has to offer…..trails, fields, free roaming, etc. My pups brought their cousins along to show off the SniffSpot. The host was incredible at letting us know that a dump truck was dropping something off nearing our departure time so we stayed in the field playing for a few extra minutes! So nice to have a host that understands the special needs of our pets. It was a fun activity to do pre- Thanksgiving…..dogs were exhausted on Thanksgiving which allowed everyone to rest. Will definitely be back.

This was a great spot. More than enough room to run for our pups. It was pretty wet when we visited (PNW winter, ha) so I really appreciated the towels being provided to dry them off. Ample signage and clear instructions meant we had no doubt where to go. We'll be back again for sure.

Black Farm Pond is quickly becoming our favorite Sniffspot. Tim has lots of clear signage throughout his property that lets you know where you’re going and how to return to the parking area, which is extremely helpful on such a large property. The tent set-ups at Club Zoomies and by the pond have been very nice during this rainy weather. The only note is that it does get quite dark by 4 pm (winter season), so I’d recommend bringing a headlamp or flashlight if you’re visiting past that time. Overall, I think Black Pond Farm is great!

This place is the best!! My dog loooooves to sniff and explore and track scents but she’s reactive so hiking can be stressful for her (and me). This is an amazing place to let her just be a dog without any worries. Had to keep her on leash because her penchant for tracking overrides her recall training every time but she still had the best adventure. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
