55This spot was amazing! We brought our 3 dogs ( a 1 y/o Great Dane, 13 y/o chihuahua, and 9 y/o pit mastiff) each of them absolutely loved it! We upgraded to the stream hike (100% recommend). The trail was clean, the creek had lots of areas to sit, a swing, a hammock, and also a picnic table. We also brought our 1 year old, who also had so much fun playing in the water and swinging on the hammock! The hike has a couple of steep spots but really nothing that’s TOO challenging. 10/10 recommend visiting here! Valerie W.

55It was so great! I wasn’t great with the directions and couldn’t find it at first but they were super understanding a let me stay a little extra. There’s a really fun hiking trail with partial shade. My dog was having so much fun he didn’t want to leave. I wasn’t wearing the right shoes it was a little slippery going downhill so I will wear my hiking boots next time. We will be booking again for sure. Audrey R. It was so great! 55This place is great!! We did the grove walk only and it was perfect for our needs. We really wanted to try a true off leash walk with our dog in a safe space. This was great. Once you drive through the gate you can close it behind you. Once that’s done, the entire space is fenced. We spent about an hour walking all over the hills through the trees. The trees kept it cool and nice.
We came from Fallbrook and the sign is hard to see from that direction. If you’ve hit w sandia creek terrace (and you’re coming from Fallbrook), you’ve gone too far.

The dogs had so much fun playing in and around the stream. My dog hates water, but this is the first time I ever saw her voluntarily getting wet! She was walking through the stream from bank to bank, retrieving sticks, and just having the best time!
We had a much better experience this time. Alma answered the phone when we arrived, and helped us out when we got turned around trying to find the gate. She also told us we can put our used poop bags at the entrance when we leave so we didn't have to take them with us this time! Connie S.

The hike and water (get the river walk!) was gorgeous and so fun. I recently adopted a shelter dog who is generally nervous about the busy environment and often worried about new dogs. I wanted him to experience the joy of running, leaping, and simply being a dog in nature. I asked if we might have a ranch hand dog join us and I’m so glad I did. Sancho came along with us and immediately befriended my Midas. They ran and leapt and wrestled in the water together like only best friends can do. Our car broke down before we got there and they were extremely communicative and helpful in making sure we still had a great trip. Highly recommend the stream hike, but it is a little steep and took my parents (in their 60s) about 25 min to get there and another 25 back. It’s such a beautiful oasis. Thank you guys!Shannon G. There is a swing, hammock, and chairs so you can relax and enjoy nature. The host is communicative, very kind, and even provided clear instructions to the stream so you aren’t lost and can just enjoy your time. We did the stream hike and it was great—it was hot though and there are two very steep sections. I’m pretty in shape and they were hard, but short. The host was also very understanding when our hour and a half drive from central OC turned into a two hour drive and let us stay longer. We’ll definitely be back!Margaret T.
