55Our dog is very reactive and was never able to go on a hike with us. This visit was his very first hike and he loved it! Alma is so helpful. She sends detailed directions both for the drive and the trail. Finding the property was very easy. Hiking is very steep, so bring the right shoes. It's very quick downhill hike to the creek. My boys had more fun than the dog with the picnic, swing, and the water. We spent 2 hours which was perfect because you'll spend around 30 minutes getting there and back. We wanted plenty of time at the water. Alma made sure her dogs were put away for our arrival, which was so considerate of her. After the visit she texted to make sure we enjoyed our visit. The fact that you can let your dogs off-leash with the reassurance that no other dogs will be present makes this experience everything you could ask for! 55Our visit was just heavenly! My husband kept telling me how awesome the property was. we booked our trip for one hour just to get the lay of the land. We will defintely stay longer next time. I met David when we arrived, and he was so kind and patient (I think I asked him to repeat directions about three times, b/c my brain can't seem to process directions the first two times!).

Unfortunately, every dog-friendly place in LA is crowded. So, Alma and David's place was like a dream come true.

The space isn’t 100% enclosed, there are two entrances with open access but they are quite far away from the trails. If your dog doesn’t have a solid recall and likes to go follow their nose, it may be best to bring a long line like we did.

55This was the best birthday adventure (literally a dream come true) for my 4 dogs and family. 3 of our dogs are pitties, so finding large, secure spaces for them to run/play isn't easy. The ranch is slightly off the beaten path, but fear not because Alma is a wonderful, helpful host, and sends you maps prior to your visit. I highly recommend saving the maps, bc cell service is spotty, and they are quite helpful ;)
Thanks to other reviews, we made our reservation for 2 hours instead of 1. Honestly, we so enjoyed our visit, and could have stayed much longer. The ranch is large enough to roam and not see everything in 2 hours, so if you're on the fence about how long to stay, stay longer!
