55Hi, I just started taking my dog Tri to your field, we live right nearby. That’s a great area. Thanks for doing this. Just want to let you know the corner at the northwest corner of your lot: there’s a breach in the fence that my dog got through and got into the neighboring yard, right where that large seasonal pond of water has formed. I was able to get her back in and I stuck a piece of lumber right in there, but it’s not balanced or secure so you might wanna look at that one corner, thanks!Michael O.

55Poppy and Paisley LOVED this fabulous spot! It is an expansive piece of property, safely fenced in with toys and sniffs galore. I love that you drive through the gate and into the secure property. It’s definitely a rubber boots, not sneakers (that you care about anyways) type of spot for humans this time of year (winter)—lots of mud and puddles. My girls really enjoyed squelching around and went right in the bath as soon as we got home. A heads up to keep an eye on your pups if they are known to eat random things, as I spotted a few mushroom peeking up through wet, fallen leaves. We will definitely return in the future!! Anna H.

55My third time there and very impressed with the improvements too the spot . Now I can drive into the area even if muddy , with the gate closing behind us . Perfect for my very active 19 month old lab who needs to run . I will be coming back again and again. Teresa W.

55Loved it here! Beautiful green grass (a bit muddy but tis the season and was walkable). Lots of tennis balls and various tools to throw them in the bin. Parking is lovely and looks like it can accommodate more cars in the future. Would come again! Maggie S.

55Great location and easy to get to. My dogs enjoyed the open field and getting to run and get full sprints in! Sturdy fence and gate that encloses the entire place. I appreciate the host having bins of dog toys and first aid kit on hand just in case. Ruben Q.

55Our doggies absolutely loved it here! Our backyard is all rocky so they don’t have room to run. We can’t do regular dog parks because one of our dogs is pretty reactive so we need a private space. One neighbor dog barked from a distance but that didn’t bother her. We brought her favorite toy and played fetch most of the time while our other dog ate grass because he thinks he’s a cow… water spicket worked perfectly. The dog raised dog bed was a nice touch. A little muddy so my boyfriend hosed it off for the next guest. My only concern is that the gate doesn’t close all the way leaving a pretty big gap and my dog is an escape artist. I had a crate in my trunk and put that in front of it and it was fine. Great first experience using sniffspot! Will definitely be back again.Michelle T.

55Big grassy area, a little muddy but whatever, there’s a hose to spray off and another water tap for fresh water for dog to drink and rinse paws off before heading out. Toys there were great, we always forget ours. Completely and securely fenced. One complaint, not a huge deal, is that the address posted isn’t actually where the sniff spot access is. As soon as I book a spot, I look up where I’m going immediately and save it to my calendar alert. Host sent a message in a timely manner, explaining the location and other solutions to potential issues. They included a pin for the entrance location. Luckily I saw the message. Anyways, we know where it is now. We will be back! Emily V.

55It was great, nice, comfortable chairs, water for the dogs.
Directions need some work. I think that they should be:
Guerneville Rd to Marlow RIGHT
Marlo to Crosspoint LEFT
Crosspoint to Barsuglia LEFT
Everything else worked great.MICHAEL B.

55Beautiful location! My dog loved it! Just a heads up, there are large gaps in between the wooden fencing and under the gate. If your dog is like mine and doesn’t listen, they’ll definitely escape.
Thank you for providing a space for my doggo regardless 🐕Karina C.

55My 16 month old lab loved the open space to run. My only concern was the deep cracks she could fall into while chasing her ball , but I do understand it is because of the dry and hot weather. Teresa W.

55I can see Kristen has cleared this space and given us areas that have many dynamics to it for the dogs to play and sniff! There are shaded areas in the dip of the hill and long open spaces for me to throw the ball for a long run. I know she is addressing the many holes! You just need to be careful with your footing! The only issue I’m personally going to have is when the fennel grows back as I’m highly allergic! But I’m 1 in a million 😊Deborah d.

55I’m not sure who enjoyed the space more; me or my dog. I grew up on the east coast and spent countless days walking and playing in wild areas. Today I got to let my pup roam and run- the mud made it perfect Paul G.

55The place is beautiful, spacious, different elevation of terrain & is exactly as the host described it. We spotted a flock of turkeys & 2 deer near the beehive. My dog & I were on a long leash since I know he doesn't have recall, for the safety of the wildlife in the area, and the the fencing described.
For reactive dogs visiting, the host did mention there are neighbor dogs so be vigilant if your dog is sight or sound sensitive to other dogs. We did see a dog & we also heard another dog but lots of space we were able to move further away.cathy w.

55My dog did escape through the fence a time or two to see if that grass was tastier, but easy to recall him back. Otherwise, so much space for him to run and play!Randi B.

55Great! Will be back! One thing to note, there is an opening on the chain link fence that appears to be letting in folks from the other side, based on a beer bottle I found nearby. Luckily my dog didn’t venture out, but she could have if she wanted to. Not a deal breaker for us, we had a perfectly good time. It was clean, not a poop in sight, and not too muddy. A neighbor dog was in a yard and barked at us when we arrived, my dog wanted to linger and bark back, but luckily the neighbor brought her dog inside long enough to allow my dog to disengage and enjoy the space. The gate that borders the road has wide gaps that most dogs could fit through. If you have a dog that likes to escape, this might not be a good place for you. Emily V.

FAQ about our Santa Rosa dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Santa Rosa area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 107 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 15 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
