You could not ask for a more kind, caring and compassionate rescue. They go above and beyond and push themselves past their limits just to rescue dogs and give them the love they deserve. The owner Nicole and her amazing network of fosters will always have a special place in my heart for reaching my sweet girl Rosie! They are the best rescue and deserve this recognition!!

My experience adopting through NBRAN in 2013 was amazing. Everyone was so thorough and honest about the dog I was interested in (because we want the dog to succeed in their new home) I got the good, the bad and the ugly. 11 years later I am still in love with my wonderful Brittany. The time and dedication of NBRAN's volunteers is bar none!

The president Amanda gave me good advise and I got Rusty in with her veterinary at this point we are 5 months out and he is doing wonderful on a combo on medication. I have seen them take on dogs most rescues wouldn’t because of the cost. I have dealt with may rescues and they definitely put the dogs first ❤️🐾

PLPR is a Pomeranian and small breed dog rescue based out of Lebanon, PA.  Our board is comprised of seasoned rescuers who all have the goal of saving dogs and providing them with the best care possible.   We save the abused, neglected, and abandoned from shelters, puppy mills, and owners who can no longer keep their pets. Our rescue is not a shelter and all our dogs are kept in foster homes where they are treated like family until their forever home is found.  PLPR provides all vet care our dogs need. This includes a vet exam, fecal, Accuplex, core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distempter, and Bordatella), microchip, bloodwork and x-rays if needed, spay or neuter, and dental. We also ensure that our dogs receive the best care possible which sometimes includes specialist visits and costly diagnostics or surgeries. PLPR relies on the support of our community and followers to provide the care our dogs need to be healthy and live their best life.

Almost 5 years ago I was scrolling on Facebook and saw the sweetest face on my feed from the Central PA Humane Society. Her name was Precious, she was a 10 year old standard Dachshund who was abandoned by the people she trusted the most. Their reasoning was they no longer had time for her. The minute I saw her I knew I needed her. My husband reluctantly agreed to let us apply to adopt her. We went to meet her. Her fur was very thin and corse, she was overweight and didn’t smell the best but she had the sweetest/sad eyes. She clearly was used for breeding and we noticed she had a large mammary tumor. She had never been spayed. Before Precious could go to her new home, she needed to be spayed. The shelter had their vet preform the surgery. They tried removing the tumor but she started bleeding heavily. They were able to spay her but were unsuccessful in removing the tumor. They closed her up not knowing if she’d survive the surgery due to the amount of blood loss. I called the shelter to check on her because I knew she had been scheduled to be spayed and the kind volunteer explained to me what happened. I was heartbroken. They said to check on her the following day to see if she pulls through. I called the next day and they said when they came in to check on her that morning she was awake and wagging her tail, but they said they received bad news. The mammary tumor was cancerous and the cancer had spread to her lungs. She was no longer up for adoption they needed a hospice foster home for her. I was devastated. Without even thinking about it I said we would be her foster family. I filled out the application. A few days later I came back to visit her and they said I could take her home. She lived 10 months with my family living the spoiled life she deserved. She slept in my bed. She took walks. She sunbathed in our back yard. She learned to play. The love we received in return was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I know when we had to make the devastating decision it was time to put her down she left this wold knowing she was loved and her life mattered. The Central PA Humane Society did everything in their power to save her. Once they opened her up and saw how big the tumor was and had a gut feeling it was cancer they could have just put her down right then and there, but they didn’t. They used their limited resources to give her a chance. They paid all of her medical bills while she lived with my family and when the time came they paid to have her humanly put down. They allowed my husband and I to be there. The shelter director met us there that day and cried right along with us as she took her last breath. I am forever grateful to the Central PA Humane Society for what they did for our Precious girl. They are an amazing shelter ran by amazing people who truly love the animals they have in their care. They do the best they can with the limited resources they have. They receive no funding and keep their doors open with only donations.

All 4 Paws Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based, all-breed, no-kill animal rescue based in Malvern, PA that offers rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary to animals in need. Our goal is to offer each and every one of these animals a safe, permanent and loving home. All 4 Paws Rescue was founded in May, 2009. Since inception, All 4 Paws Rescue has saved over 15,000 needy animals and continues to grow and save lives daily. For most of the animals rescued by All 4 Paws, we are their last chance. Many reside in shelters that are not even open to the public but are instead holding facilities where the animals go to die. Many come from commercial breeding facilities that throw them away like trash when they are no longer useful for breeding purposes or not fit for sale. Puppies, purebreds, family pets - these are animals you would never expect to end up in these horrible situations but it is a sad reality. Through our extensive rescue network, All 4 Paws has developed relationships nationwide that allow us to save countless lives that would otherwise have been ended. As a foster based rescue, our animals live in homes with our families and our personal pets so we are able to learn a great deal about them and work on preparing them for their forever home. There is no greater feeling than releasing these wonderful animals into a safe yard and watching them run and play as they should. They sleep curled up in soft beds in our homes when hours before they laid on concrete floors. They feel grass beneath their feet when many have never experienced the outdoors. Having never known freedom or a full belly, they are so very thankful. This is why we at All 4 Paws Rescue do what we do - because they all deserve a home.

Canine Rescue is a small local dog rescue with the most dedicated volunteers. Talk about doing something with nothing- that should be our motto! Our kennel is old and in need of so much TLC, but our volunteers continue to pull through with ideas of how to make it a more comfortable safe place for dogs in helpless situations to wait for their forever homes. All the dogs that pass through our care are treated to best TLC a dog can ask for. As an adopter I can also say that the support for new dog owners is incredible! Any concerns that new adopters have is supported through the rescue to ensure that our dogs stay in their forever homes.

Home At Last Dog Rescue (HAL) was founded in North Wales PA, in 2008 as an all age, all breed, dog rescue. HAL is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are a group of dog-loving volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters and puppy mills, as well as dogs in other unfortunate circumstances. We are not a shelter; thus, we have no central location or physical facility to house the dogs we rescue. It is through volunteer foster homes, mostly located in the Greater Philadelphia, PA Region, that we can provide homes for the dogs in our care. Our dogs remain in foster homes until they are matched and adopted into their forever families. In doing this, we hope to provide an alternative to the purchase of breeder and pet store dogs as well as prevent unwanted dogs from entering the overwhelmed shelter system. Since 2008 we have rescued over 20,000 dogs.

Having been involved with DVGRR since 1994 as a volunteer, adopter, and former staff member, I can say unequivocally that this organization is top notch. Originally dependent on foster homes, the rescue opened its own kennel facility in 2000 in order to serve more dogs and provide more intensive medical and behavioral services. Every dog is cared for with compassion, love, high quality medical care (on-site medical clinic), and a myriad of training/socialization opportunities to prepare them for adoption. DVGRR's innovative Project Home Life program, which rehabilitates shy and fearful dogs (including many surrendered after a lifetime of breeding in puppy mills) has been nationally recognized for its excellent results. From the top leadership staff to the dedicated kennel caregivers, every staff member works extraordinarily hard to maintain high standards, spend donor dollars wisely, educate the public about rescue and adoption, and give so many dogs in need (including quite a few that spend months at the kennel while being prepared for adoption) a second chance at happy, healthy lives with new, adoptive families. I've personally adopted six dogs from DVGRR and maintain contact with many other loyal adopters and supporters.

Dalis to the Rescue is a wonderful rescue in Alma, Mi. Davis, her hubby and daughters, staff, supporters, volunteers, and friends come together to rescue thousands of animals each year. Dalis has even added spay and neuter clinics in her own rescue to help solve so many unwanted animals being born as well as using vets in the surrounding area. The Pawsitive Prison Dog program has helped train many dogs that has not only helped the dogs but also the prisoners. The rescue is always full to the brim and the animals are well taken care of. Dalis has her "Naughty Crew" that she hauls around in a bus. These are dogs that no one wanted. Some even have to be carried because they have difficulty walking. She takes them into schools to educate kids on spaying and neutering and properly taking care of animals. On top of that Dalis grooms dogs. Also want to mention her dedicated foster families. Always ready to help. I could go on and on. This IS the best rescue in Mi. and the U.S!

    FurKid Rescue

    Pittsburgh

Furkid is a foster network rescue meaning all of our rescues are temporary members of our families. Our fosters can give you insight into the personality and needs of our FurKids because they are in our homes, versus you meeting them in a stressful environment where they haven't had a chance to let their fur down and their true personalities shine through. We officially started in 2008 rescuing Pit Bulls because they needed to be rescued the most. However over the years with the increase in puppy mills and backyard breeders, we have become an all-breed rescue because we want to save all dogs. We don't discriminate. We take dogs that other rescues won't. We have rescued and rehabilitated pups starved from the brink of death, pups with parvo who were given almost no chance, dogs who have been shot, dogs with disabilities or mange that are deemed undesirable, or not worth saving. We rescue elderly dogs left on chains for the majority of their years, puppies with minutes to spare before being euthanized for no reason other than no one is paying attention. We love and rescue them all. Please understand that we do not have a physical location. We try to give our animals the best foster experience possible, not only for their comfort, but to implement positive reinforcement training methods and to make sure they are getting the best care imaginable. We work on a volunteer basis and this rescue work takes time away from our families, friends, and pets. Our strength to continue rescuing animals comes from finding one of our adoptable dogs a forever home where they will be loved, cherished and treated as a member of the family. It is those moments that make our hearts full and give us the drive to continue.

Nirvana was amazingly supportive as we fostered a puppy. They provided everything and anything we needed to be successful. When we became “foster failures” & decided to keep our puppy, all of the paperwork was completed thoroughly and quickly. Nivana provides great foster support physically, with events and as well as through social media. Nirvana will do all that is necessary to have a rescued dog be at its highest potential for adoption. I will not go anywhere else for our next adoption.

All the dogs that pass through our care are treated to best TLC a dog can ask for. As an adopter I can also say that the support for new dog owners is incredible! ABOUT US Welcome to LaMancha Animal Rescue. Since 2005, we have been a qualified public charity under IRS section 501(c)3. LaMancha maintains a forty-five acre facility for rescuing dogs, cats, pigs, goats, horses, and the occasional exotic animal that requires more space or specialized knowledge than most SPCAs can offer. We have two heated and air-conditioned kennels for dogs, each dog is housed in a run where they have indoor/outdoor access. There is a heated and air-conditioned building dedicated to cats, which is free range, no cages. LaMancha is staffed primarily with volunteers, we currently have an active list of approximately two hundred. These volunteers care for the animals, exercise the dogs, either on walking trails, or large exercise fields. We try and take in the harder-to-place dogs, that wouldn't have a good chance to be adopted in public shelters. We have gained a reputation for saving and rehoming Pyrenean Mountain Dogs, known in North America as the Great Pyrenees. These large dogs are known for their gentle temperament as well as their independent streak. When you visit LaMancha, the famous white dogs of LaMancha are usually amongst the first to greet you.

    All 4 Paws Rescue

    German ShepherdGerman Shepherd
I have volunteered a few times for Char-Wills, and have been very impressed with the care and effort they make in finding "forever homes" for the GSDs. I helped on a transport where I was the middle leg of a 3 leg effort from Johnstown, to State College, to Dauphin to Char-Wills. Seamless communication was provided amongst the drivers, and I witnessed the other drivers providing care above and beyond when moving the GSD between vehicles, making the GSD comfortable in an otherwise scary situation. Another time my wife and I were volunteering at the facility itself, helping to groom and walk the GSDs. I witnessed several adoptions that day, including one 3 legged GSD who won the hearts of his future family and their dog after they had walked another GSD, but decided the fit wasn't quite right. Needless to say, it was a very moving experience. Great effort is made to ensure a good fit with the GSD and the potential owners. If you are adopting and have another dog at home, you have to bring the dog to make sure there is compatibility. In fact there is a resident cat at the shelter so the volunteers and staff can determine how the GSD will react to a home with a feline house mate. The staff and volunteers are very dedicated and protective of their charges, attempting to make sure the GSD will be well loved and cared for. I hope the organization's efforts continue for many more years.
