55Every time I come back here, it gets better bit by bit.
I've been coming to this property a few times a week for about a month, and I've watched it grow from having only a small area not overrun with spikey plants and foxtails to the rough areas getting hacked down. Now the spikey plants seem to be disappearing as Sophie works on making the space better and better for dogs.
Things I like: water source!
Water bowl!
Half shade half sun!
Flattish space to run!
There's a garbage can!
There's a place to park off the street!
Things that can be better:
Those dang foxtails and spikey plants completely disappearing
More space to walk from my car to the gate
A garbage can right by the space sp I don't have to walk it to the other side of the building to pitch
If you have a dog with sensitive paws, bring booties or this isn't a good spot for your pup. same goes for dogs with fur that collect debris like velcro. Other than that, I enjoy this place.
Sophie is aware of these things as I messaged her about them, and I know that foxtails and spikey plants are always an ongoing battle in spaces like these. I look forward to continuing to come here with my groups. My dogs clearly enjoy coming here to run, rest in the shade, and play with the variety of toys that are around. It's a great reprieve from public spaces!Steph H.

55Great sized space, the lowest fencing felt about 3-4 feet high which was high enough for my medium size dog to be well contained. There was water and toys on site as well. Neighborhood is very quiet and lovely.Megan M.

55Our dogs loved this place! We enjoyed the privacy, REALLY appreciated the access to clean drinking water. The yard itself is well-secured, which is important because my Shiba is an escape artist. 10/10, we will book again! Big thank you to our host for making our girls playtime fun and stress-free for us. Taylor M.

55Our two hound dogs (a beagle and coonhound) loved every minute of our visit! They stayed busy sniffing and exploring. No time to play with any of the dog toy options since there were so many new smells to check out. It was easy to find, park and this sniffspot had everything we needed while we were there. We will be back soon!Lori J.

55Dogs really enjoyed the open area to run around. My place doesn't have much of a yard so this was a great treat for them to sniff around and stretch their legs. Robbie P.

55My dog had so much fun at this sniffspot! We booked an 1.30 hour and it was more than enough time for my pup to exhaust herself playing fetch. Lots of toys and very spacious. Nice shady spots under the trees to enjoy relaxing from the heat. Highly recommend. Alice D.

55We loved this space! First plus - it was very nearby and most sniff spots are a bit of a drive. The directions for arrival and access of the yard were super clear and accurate. The yard is big and open and relatively flat, with a dip near the center. It was relaxing (street traffic was minimal) and we didn't see any other animals/people/wildlife, which is a huge plus for my reactive dog. Note: the fences are not high along the entrance and one of the sides (about 4') but secure. My dog is not a jumper so this wasn't an issue but if yours is, keep that in mind. We will definitely be back!Meghan S.

55This Sniffspot worked for me, so I'm giving it maximum stars. I brought my dog there for some rally obedience training. The ground was slightly more uneven than I'd like for that, but it worked well enough and gave us good practice for those trials on grass.
However, I predict that it won't work for everyone. The fencing is partly high wood fence, and partly low (4') temporary wire fencing, similar to an ex pen. If your dog can jump a 4' fence, don't go here. If your dog is large and likes to put front feet up on low fencing, maybe don't go here. It doesn't seem sturdy enough for that. If your dog is reactive to street-type activity (passersby), maybe don't go here. You can see the street through the wire barrier from two sides of the yard. (The house is on a corner.) Also, half of the yard was covered in burrs. I was there for training so I worked my dog in the part of the yard that was mostly lawn. But I inspected the wilder half, and found an abundance of burrs on the ground. If your dog has a velcro kind of coat, consider staying on the lawn side or being ready to comb out burrs. My dog has a short coat these days so I wasn't too concerned.
This is a really nice big space which is mostly flat, so it's great for exercising a dog or doing some training. There's an abundance of toys, some of which were unexpected (the herding ball!). There is also seating, treats, a poop bin and poop bags. There was also a bowl and a hose. It's also centrally located for us, and I'm grateful that it's available for rental. Christine M.

55Awesome spot, overall. Large and open, a great place for a big dog to run. Fencing is not super sturdy-looking, as mentioned elsewhere. But it was tall enough that my big dog who doesn't test fences felt securely contained. The fencing is open to the street and we saw multiple people and some horses walk past, so perhaps not the best for very reactive dogs. The dog on the premises (in the house) was completely silent and calm, but did put his head through the curtains a few times to watch our dogs (who did not notice him, though!).
My dog came home with a few burrs and a foxtail, so check your furry pups over, but the yard was clearly maintained and as clean as is possible when it comes to weeds.
We'll be back!Kelsey D.

55My dog Kato and I just moved to the area from a place where there is lots of space for him to roam. I heard about SniffSpot on Reddit and gave this spot a shot first. I am so happy I did. The directions were clear and easy to follow. Kato had the whole space to himself and the bins of toys were really exciting for him. One hour was all we needed to have some fun, stretch our legs and get tired of course. I will definitely be coming back for a doggie play date I have in mind! Sydney D.

FAQ about our Los Altos Hills dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Los Altos Hills area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 119 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 16 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
