Hike up the mini forest

Fully Fenced
9 acres

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, check out Sniffpass. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you have older dog/s and would like to drive below the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. Check it out by copying and pasting link below to browser or Search listing through the hipcamp site. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-grace-e-s-mini-forest-ex9hrrp8?shareid=1ddvuyvr3yh Saturdays are usually blocked if there's Hipcamp bookings. But I would unblock the hours for Sniffspot use if that day isn't booked for Hipcamp, so please try to check back, who knows that day might be available! Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little 'hike up the mini forest..'

Lake Cavanaugh K9 Ranch

Unfenced
22 acres

22 forested acres with private trails and an open field area located in the power line clearing. Includes private land access to state forest trails with views. Once you park you will see the trail entrance into the forest in front of you. Take the trail down to the creek. Water levels in the creek vary depending on the time of year. Cross the creek using the foot bridge and head through the forest. In about .3 miles you will come out into the powering line clearing. Feel free to explore everything in front of you and to the left (north). There are several wide open grass spaces in the power line to play fetch or just let the dogs run and be dogs. I will send you detailed instructions for the hike up the mountain upon request. This is a real hike and I recommend hiking attire. Please bring water for yourself and your dogs. The hike is about 3.5 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain. I recommend booking at least 2 hours to complete. If you want to hang out and enjoy the views you may want to book more than 2 hours.

Woodland Tranquility Pathways - find solitude!

Partially Fenced
5 acres

Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors... ‘chatty hosts/property owners’😉). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat, a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.

124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

Unfenced
124 acres

Follow our FB page for open days. Farm store now open! Swing in before your appointment and grab some retro sodas, dog beer (YES I SAID DOG BEER!), artisan smores kits and so much more! CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS. Check out our website, insta and FB page for more photos too! Happy Sniffing!!l

Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Please visit our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555379018442 Let us know if you have any questions. Synchronized play bowing to you!

Alder trails SniffSpot

Partially Fenced
5 acres

Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. The pictures were taken during the win ter months, the property and trails are so much prettier during the spring through fall months. Thank you for stopping by.

A walk in Dons woods

Fully Fenced
12 acres

We have a number of wide moss covered walking trails through the woods. The property is fully fenced with wire fencing. But it is NOT dog proof fencing . There is a natural wide buffer between trails and fencing in most spots. The west side has privacy fencing, hogwire fencing on the North and a creek borders the Southend. . We have dogs on the property but they do not go venturing into the woods unless we are with them.

Emily's Private Dog Park In Sedro Woolley

Unfenced
5 acres

Enjoy this completely private dog park on over 5 acres of property on the beautiful Bacus Hill. To get here, follow google maps most of the way. When you see the mailboxes on the left (a little before where maps takes you), you'll also see an area where you can pull off and park. There is a maintained path that leads straight down to a bridge, once you are across the bridge, the entire open area is available for you and your dog to roam and explore. On the walk down, you will be able to see our house and our fenced yard with our dogs, but once you cross the bridge it will be private. A few warnings/disclaimers: 1. There is wildlife (bears, cougars, etc.) in the area. Use at your own risk. 2. The bridge has some (fairly obvious) broken/soft spots on the west side. Watch your step! 3. Beyond the open area to the east and south begins to get into other neighbor's property. It is not the end of the world if your dog goes there for a bit, but please try to keep them mostly in the open area. 4. Watch out for occasional dog poop. We let our dogs poop on walks and every now and then it happens to be on the path. Generally clear, but good to keep an eye out.

Bird Watching and Tail Wagging at the Beaver Pond

Unfenced
21 acres

Please Note: 11/25/22- I’ve decided to open up the calendar for a bit to allow reservations with greater ease, but I do still ask that you message first in case someone related to our forest cleanup project is on-site. 10/1/22- At this time the property could be potentially available for your use, however, we are preparing for the forest cleanup project that we’ve been working towards with the DNR for over a year. If you are interested in visiting here, please message and if it works out I’ll be happy to accommodate you. 07/01/22- Important: The Sniffspot platform does not allow hosts the option to approve or cancel reservations, as such I have blocked my calendar to more easily control reservations. I often don’t know until last minute when the forest manager I’m working with for the DNR forest cleanup project is on-site, the logging will take place hopefully this winter. — This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old-growth forest, and phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet with the exception of the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. This property was once a show home, but a fire took place over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the ruins that remain are minimal, it sets an interesting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photoshoot. Within the property is a small orchard, we do ask to try to not let the pups do their business there. Spring 2022 Update: One picnic table have been added to the property.

55This is a wonderful piece of property!  I found it very serene, and I guess the big eagle that flew overhead added to that feeling.  Parking was easy, had a large creek that would be great to cool off in the summer, as well as had had a couple of great places to play fetch and pup to get a good work out in.  I followed another reviewer’s suggestion to follow along the left side of the house, and from there it was quite obvious where to go.  I didn’t let my pup off lease until I was clear of the chicken coop, and knew the horses were a ways off.

55We had the best time! Love the open fields and the creek. The woods were fun as well but I should apologize to the neighbors I checked google maps at once point and was definitely on their side of the line but it's impossible to tell in the unfenced woods without signs. I should caution others through my littlest dog got stuck in brambles off the trail and I had to go in and untangle him he ended up with a cooler of scratches. So keep your eyes out when they are off the trails. I can't wait to go back though.

We had a wonderful time and the dogs enjoyed splashing in the puddles and running through the woods. Can't wait to visit again. Oh if you have a "wooly" dog check them often for sticks, stickers or brambles in their coats.

55Our pups had a fabulous time visiting this Sniffspot! So much to explore and a variety of spaces to choose from depending on your dog's needs/preferences -- open fields, trails, and a creek for the water lovers. Greatly appreciated the host's email to alert us to the mud and that the creek was running high and fast due to the recent rains. Highly recommend, and I know we'll definitely be back!!

55Love love love this Sniffspot and the owners are wonderful! This is truly a gorgeous area. As soon as Moose got out of the car, he was running like a mad hatter gleefully around the property. He plunged into the pond, plowed through tall grasses, and sniffed his big little heart out. This Sniffspot has a beautiful creek and a bridge that crosses the pond. Nice wide open spaces for puppies to run around and good walking trails for the humans. For the reactive dog owner, keep in mind there are dogs, trucks, and other noises around the main road/entrance to the property. It was a great training opportunity but Moose was pretty distracted by it all. Keep your pup past the pond and reactive dogs should be just fine. They can hear other dogs and some noise but it's less distracting.

Love love love this Sniffspot and the owners are wonderful!

55We had such a great time today! So many different ways you can spend your visit- off leash playing fetch, swimming, or just walking around the property! It was beautiful, I felt like I was on a mini vacation from the city. Can’t wait to come back! As a side note- they had a little bucket by the front of the property with dog treats and tennis balls. So sweet!

55This place is amazing! Lots of open areas to run and play fetch. My dog loved wading in the creek as well. As an added bonus, the beautiful neighbor horses came over to say hi! The dogs could have cared less about the horses as they were busy romping around the back field. Can’t wait to come back!

55Great place! It almost felt like we were in a magical forest. Great instructions for entering the property . It was so peaceful, we never saw any humans only the faint bark of a dog but our pups couldn’t care less, they were to busy having fun. Can’t wait to go to this one in the summer, there is a great creek!

55Beautiful property! It has all the best dog amenities: water, wide-open spaces, trees, bushes, and mud! We have two tuckered girls tonight. Just one caution: watch your dogs near the neighbor's barbed wire fence. Our older girl went in the creek near the bridge and climbed out just on the other side of the barbed wire fence, and she got a little tangled in it coming back through. Next time we'll make sure she doesn't go down to the creek on that side.

55we had a great time at this sniff spot, especially once we found the wooded trails across the creek. the fields look lovely but my dog needs a bit of a barrier between where she is off leash and any roads as she will chase critters with abandon. also just as a note- the description says cows and horses on neighboring property- i was not prepared for the chickens in a coop on the residents property and felt really bad cause my dog went a little crazy on them and they were panicking inside the coop. i will enjoy this sniff spot again and keep my dog on leash til we are further into the property in the future! sorry chickens!

55Beautiful spot, we especially enjoyed seeing a pair of bald eagles that roamed the property. Note to reactive dog owners, as you head towards the back of the property there are horses. They seemed very used to people and dogs, but advise staying on leash until you are past them down the trail.

55I loved this SniffSpot. It was my favorite so far of all I've been to. There is a wonderful, quite long path through some woods that I really enjoyed. My dog had a wonderful time exploring and racing around. I was a little confused when I first got there because it wasn't clear where to go. The host came out and pointed me in the right direction but what you do is just follow the driveway around the left side of the house and it's clear where to go from there. I also got confused coming back about how to get into the host's property (the most obvious path led to the neighbor's) so my dog and I had to walk along the neighbor's fence through some thorns. So my advice is to pay attention when you take the little path up into the woods.

55The best SniffSpot ever! Feels like we’re going hiking in the woods, with no worries of the dogs running too far or bothering anyone. Host is wonderful, leaving small thank you treats, and her organic eggs are worth paying extra for. We’re a regular now and until we’re able to fence our yard, this is our to go spot for the pooches.

55We so enjoyed visiting Grace's beautiful property. She was a welcoming host and the space is a beautiful wooded forest land with lots of room to roam and a flowing creek to play in. Scout had a blast exploring, we packed a forest picnic (pack it in, pack it out ( :) and even saved time to visit her beautiful herd of goats and took some farm fresh eggs back home with us. We can't wait to come back!

Scout had a blast exploring, we packed a forest picnic (pack it in, pack it out ( :) and even saved time to visit her beautiful herd of goats and took some farm fresh eggs back home with us. We can't wait to come back!
